Even a game like Helldivers 2 can sometimes feel… repetitive. It’s possible that there won’t be any new content in the near future while the devs work on some performance issues. So, the players have to find ways to keep the game fresh for themselves. Thankfully, there are plenty of creative people in this community! Have you ever thought of taking on a stealth challenge and becoming a ghostdiver in Helldivers 2?
What Is the Stealth Challenge?
One of our favorite Helldivers 2 content creators, CommissarKai, teamed up with another amazing creator, Eravin. Together, these YouTubers showed off the unexpected joys of playing with no Stratagems, resupplies, and reinforcements. This challenge is meant to promote the power of teamwork.
In the video, these creators cover the basics of ghostdiving, a very popular approach to the game. They explain how to deal with static enemies and patrols.
The static enemies are usually around the Objectives, and you can take them out one by one, thus creating gaps in the enemies’ defense. If you are playing in a pair, one player can take out the enemies from afar, while the other one sneaks in and gets the job done.
On the other hand, you should avoid the patrols. Once one enemy is alerted, so are the others. Another important aspect is to spend some time studying the map and strategically choosing your route.
Of course, these players had plenty of more advice, but they also shared why ghostdiving was the perfect challenge. First of all, if you are still relatively new, being stealthy will make you an invaluable team member, you’ll have way fewer deaths, but you’ll still contribute a lot. Especially on the bot front.
Second, giving up Stratagems, resupplies, and reinforcements will make this game much harder and make you feel like you are almost in a horror game. That’s bound to make the game feel fresh.
And finally, the third and final reason is… camaraderie. Taking up this challenge solo might be an impossible task. Working together, coordinating and following each other’s lead will certainly keep you entertained.
Have You Tried Being a Ghostdiver in Helldivers 2?
As always, the community loved CommissarKai’s idea. Every Helldivers 2 player should try being a ghostdiver, and the stealth challenge is the perfect opportunity to give it a go.
One player, panachevitz, noted: “I like this side of Kai and the crew: trying new play styles when you are usually locked into one way. Everyone plays their own meta, but I like it when people switch it up and challenge themselves, plus watching the same play style is boring. And on top of that, I learned a few things (or remembered things I’ve forgotten) in this video”.
So, if you are looking for a change, especially on the bot front, we strongly suggest you give this challenge a try. You can even try it on the bug front, although the current Major Order is quite challenging on its own. We’ll see you on Nivel 43, or, if you are stealthy enough… we won’t.
