Titan Quest 2 multiplayer guide – How to play with friends

Titan Quest 2‘s early access nature is perhaps one of the biggest reasons why multiplayer in the game, as of writing, is extremely limited in scope.

If you’re unwilling to take risks with the experimental side, you’ll have to stick with the game’s single-player content. There’s the main campaign and side quests to complete. However, the game offers an experimental multiplayer mode allowing you to play with your friends.

How to play with your friends in Titan Quest 2?

Not only is the current multiplayer version unstable and limited, but you’ll also need to have your friends on the same platform. There is no lobby browser yet, and your platform support (Steam friends) is the only realistic solution.

  • To play multiplayer, you can’t use the official early access version.
  • Instead, you’ll have to use an alternate version that you can choose from the settings.
  • In the alternate version, you’ll find the Multiplayer option.
  • Choose a character and select to host a multiplayer session.
  • You can use the Steam lobby to invite a friend, or they can join you in your game.

There are a few extra rules and restrictions to keep in mind, too.

  • You’ll need to create a new character in the unstable multiplayer version of Titan Quest 2. Builds from the stable early access version aren’t usable.
  • You can play together in a band of up to four people.
  • If the person hosting the game leaves, the session will automatically end for all the remaining players. You also risk running into crashes.

There’s an active feedback collection portal for players to send their complaints and help the developers improve the multiplayer version. Chances are that official support for multiplayer will be implemented soon in Titan Quest 2.
