On the eve of the first anniversary of Helldivers 2, the players are at each other’s throats. Over the last several days, the devs added a number of new items, but the players simply can’t agree on how they feel about one of them. Yes, the Ultimatum has caused quite a kerfuffle in the Helldivers 2 community.
What Is the Ultimatum?
The GP-31 Ultimatum is a part of the freshly released Servants of Freedom Warbond. Even though it’s a single-shot weapon, this secondary is extremely powerful. It fires mini Orbital Precision Strike shells at short range.
As for the stats, the Capacity is obviously 1. The Recoil is 43, and the Fire Rate is 900. As for the Damage, it’s a whopping 4500. Also, this weapon is medium armor penetrating, one-handed, and, what a surprise, explosive. It costs 40 Medals and you can find it on the second page of the Servants of Freedom Warbond.

Helldivers 2 Players Can’t Find Common Ground
At first glance, many Helldivers 2 players would say that the Ultimatum is well-balanced. Dealing ridiculous damage makes sense, if it’s a one-shot weapon. However, immediately after the Warbond dropped, players started arguing whether it was worth the Medals.
Nibblewerfer stated: ” It brings a destruction force value that no primary, secondary, grenade, or support weapon has carried before now. This makes it more valuable than MANY Stratagems, in a slot that isn’t exactly the most important”.
Other players thought that the Ultimatum being one-shot wasn’t acceptable. OkWillingness4286 suggested: “The ammo economy is terrible. I think it should have 4 total shots and get 2 back from the supply pack”.
Of course, some players noted that even after a thorough analysis, the Ultimatum was well-balanced. ZeroPointZero_ explained: “Is it good? Yes, absolutely. Fantastic, even – when used to do what it’s good at. Does it trivialize the game? Not really. Is it overpowered? Impossible to say for sure right now (it was literally just released), but I think “not really”. The main advantage it grants is being able to kill Stratagem Jammers quickly. Which is a big boost for bot dives, but it’s not that incredible in most other cases”.
We agree with this statement, and also, even if this weapon was overpowered, it’s incredibly fun. And we’re sure it will come in handy with what’s to come. There are plenty of rumors about the Gloom Expeditions, new Objectives, and even some mutated enemies. So, you’ll probably be thankful for something this, um, effective. For Liberty and Super Earth.
