Top 5 All-Time Favorite Mods for STALKER 2 Heart of Chornobyl

Mods can do quite a lot for a game. They can introduce small tweaks and details, but they can also reduce the stutter and majorly improve and expand the gameplay. STALKER 2 isn’t in dire need of mods, but some might come in useful while you roam the Zone. Let’s face it, this survival horror FPS is scary enough on its own, you don’t need to face the stutters as well.

What Are the Top 5 Mods for STALKER 2?

As we mentioned, mods can improve every game. And, STALKER 2 has had some technical issues. So, the very top-ranked mods are meant to improve performance.

  • Optimized Tweaks S.2 – boasts reducing stutter, improving performance, better frames, and lowering the latency. The creators stated: “This mod changes many Unreal Engine variables, which the game’s developers mostly left at their default values, resulting in the mentioned improvements. Remarkably, in some areas of the game, it might even increase your FPS by 3-10 frames”.
  • Stalker Optimizer – reduces stuttering and optimizes shader compilation and assets streaming. The creators noted: “This can also potentially increase your FPS by a considerable amount, ranging from 5 to 10 FPS, depending on your CPU, without any decrease in the visual quality of the game”.
  • Maklane’s Better gunfights 2.6 – a mod that removes aimbot NPCs. The creators said: “The mod focuses on adjusting the dispersion parameters of NPC bullets at long and medium distances. NPCs shoot more bullets at long and medium distances with a higher chance of dispersion. This makes firefights between NPCs and those you face more durable, enjoyable, and fair”.
  • No (or reduced) weight for ammo, nades, meds, and food – another mod focused on improving the gameplay. The creators stated: “All ammo, grenades, meds, and food/drinks now weigh 0, 10%, or 50% of vanilla”.
  • Reduced Repair Cost -this one speaks for itself! The creators noted: “Change the Repair Cost of items (80%, 60%, 50%, 40%, 20% or Free)”.
