The Fantastic Four reunited with the start of the second half of Season 1. The Thing and the Human Torch joined Sue and Reed on February 21. It’s been a couple of weeks since, and even though many players disliked that another flier was added, they got used to the Human Torch quite quickly. However, some Marvel Rivals players still have no idea how to efficiently face The Thing.
The Thing Is Doomed if He Faces One of These Heroes
If you are looking for a perfect Hero to face The Thing, well, the community suggested two great, but unexpected choices. The Heroes in question? Peni Parker and Squirrel Girl. Even though they both have a fan base, somehow we didn’t expect to see them as The Thing’s best opponents.
Basic_Shop819 noted: “Squirrel Girl can hold him in place twice. And, if you’re close enough, you can deal an insane amount of damage to him. If he gets too close, then jump away”. Well, three times if you team up with Spider-Man. Squirrel Girl can easily nuke The Thing.
As for Peni Parker, several players offered advice. CliffDraws stated: “It’s got to be super annoying to play against Peni as Thing. He’s so hard to miss with the stun and it’s so easy to time it when he rears back”. Another player, dbusby98, added: “Her nest, if played correctly, makes it nearly impossible to thrive on The Thing. I’ll typically just switch if I’m against a good Peni”.

The Marvel Rivals Community Reveals the Best Approach
Of course, Peni Parker and the Squirrel Girl aren’t the only Marvel Rivals Heroes who can take The Thing down. Many players suggested one similar strategy, which would only require a slightly different approach than what you might be used to.
GigaChassis revealed the secret: “The key is verticality and sustained damage. He can’t do anything to a Punisher on high ground, or an Iron Man beaming him down”. So, this easily includes some other Heroes, such as Hela, or even Rocket.
Aegillade noted: “As a Hela player, she’s been so good this season because of the fliers, but Ben being used is good for her too. She can take high ground and just kinda M1 into him without much care. If he goes after her, she’s got the bird for that”. Another player added: “Rocket is also pretty good at this. Unfortunately, most Rocket players don’t seem to understand that they have bullets that hurt the enemy team”.
So, if The Thing is giving you a headache, now you know which Heroes can take care of him in the most efficient ways. Hopefully, this will help you face that giant pile of rocks. Enjoy the game, and see you out there.
