Two Months Since the Release, Marvel Rivals Players Share Their Wishes and Expectations for the Future

Marvel Rivals dropped on December 5, 2024. With all the holidays and winter breaks, two months just blew by. The players are overall satisfied with the game, but it’s a good idea to occasionally overview what could use some improvement. So, the Marvel Rivals community offered their two cents on everything that happened so far and some expectations for what’s yet to come.

Marvel Rivals Had a Great Couple of Months

Let’s start with an overview. It’s been two months since the game was released. In that time, the number of players has been quite consistent, with some wonderful peaks. On January 11, 2025, a day after the start of Season 1, the game reached its all-time peak at 644269 players. On February 4, the 24-hour peak was 364417 players, which isn’t all that lower than the number of players on the first day.

Players gladly used the opportunity to praise one of their favorite games. HelpfulSituation noted: “I went from never playing a single hero shooter to having 300 hours in this game. My friends play it. It runs seamlessly, matches are found in seconds…I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had a smoother experience in a multiplayer game, ever”.

Another player, Ok_Marionberry_3118, added: “I’m new to the gaming style and can confidently say that Marvel has me hooked. I will be spending my foreseeable future on this game”. Litteral thousands of players agreed with these statements, proving that this game is truly loved.

Players Have One Huge Wish for the Future

Even though the game is great as is, that doesn’t mean that the Marvel Rivals community doesn’t have some quite high expectations. And, as it turns out, some well-defined wishes. Among general requests, such as new characters and a wider variety in non-DPS classes, one wish stood out.

One player, cubansandwich86, noted: “The future looks good. But it does feel like they’re going to need to prioritize map variety a bit more going forward. The game is still so new. I’m sure within the next year or so we’ll have a great selection of maps”.

One player, AkilTheAwesome, suggested that one tiny change could further improve the existing maps. They stated: “I think their issue is not variety. It’s the color palate. We have three maps for Asgard Royal Palace Domination. 3 rounds. I do not know why every map is taking place at the same time of day when they could have EASILY been during different seasons or have a day and night cycle. Seems like a very easy way to shallow-y diversify the vibes of the map”.

Truth be told, this idea could actually improve the existing roster of maps. Also, it’s probably relatively easy for devs to apply these changes, thus creating an illusion of new maps while they are working on creating the actual new maps.

The thing that we’ve enjoyed the most about Marvel Rivals in these past two months has to be the community. We love fighting alongside strong, open-minded, and, most importantly, fair players. So, we honestly hope this game and its community will only grow from here. See you out there and enjoy the game.
