Even though all Marvel characters have their iconic looks, live-service games have some expectations. So it is no wonder that Marvel Rivals has a bunch of skins for all the playable characters, and on that note, two more are on the way, coming on January 17. One for Doctor Strange and one for Mantis.
There are more than 30 playable heroes in Marvel Rivals and each of them has multiple skins to choose from, resulting in more than 100 unique skins in total. With the release of Season 1 we got a bunch of spooky skins, as the theme of the Season is all about Dracula and everything has the appropriate aesthetic. However, that is not the only ongoing event.
Two New Skins, Doctor Strange Sorcerer Immortal and Mantis Jade Maiden, Coming to Marvel Rivals on January 17
January is all about the Lunar New Year, arguably the most famous holiday in East Asia. And, as NetEase is a Chinese company, it is no surprise that they are releasing some traditional skins as well. We first saw the addition of the Cherfuul Dragoness costume for Squirrel Girl, and the Lunar General costume for Moon Knight, both heavily inspired by Chinese mythology. And now, two more are on the way.
On January 14, NetEase posted that two more Lunar New Year skins are on the way. Doctor Strange will get the Sorcerer Immortal costume, while Mantis will get the Jade Maiden costume. Both of these skins will be added to the game on January 17, at 9:00am UTC / 1:00am PST.

As for the fan reactions, they are predominantly very positive. “The skins in this game are actually crazy,” said ProfPandaX, and “Damn instant buy” added RealShimada. NetEase is really doing a good job with these skins right now. Hopefully, the quality will not drop over time.
