At the start of the second half of the first Season, the players welcomed two new Heroes. One of them, the Human Torch, brings the fight from the above. Now, especially since the craze for the new characters is still very much alive, this brought out an important topic. Marvel Rivals players truly hate dealing with fliers, no matter whose side they’re fighting on.
Supports Are Vexed When They Have to Chase Fliers
If you are a healer, you probably roll your eyes when you see a flying Hero on your team. These Heroes are usually quite hard to catch up to, and on some occasions even hard to spot. Thus, a Strategist has to be quite proficient and dedicated, as fliers make their job a bit more difficult.
One player, ikelofe, took to Reddit and shared their opinions on the topic. This caused quite an uproar from the flyers of the community. In OP’s opinion, it wasn’t easy healing fliers mid-fight, especially if they were somewhere far behind. They suggested that fliers should learn where the natural map covers and health packs were.
The OP explained: “It’s not just the mechanical skill of aiming and hitting your flyers what makes it hard. It’s the fact that if the Supports stop paying attention to the actual fight for a split second to look for you (behind, 1 mile up in the air), the Tank(s) or other DPS will get absolutely melted in 1s and we get rolled. Also, most of the time the supports have to deal with some sort of dive opponent too”.

Tanks Aren’t Fans in Marvel Rivals Either
Well, the tanks aren’t too fond of the fliers in Marvel Rivals either. However, they don’t mind the fliers on their own team, but rather on the opposing team. Fliers are hard to reach, thus it is frustrating to play against them.
DirectorMassive7578 stated: “Too many flying enemies, not enough Vanguards with reach. Is it just me or are there too many characters who can fly completely out of reach of any Vanguard besides Penni? I get there are enough characters who can counter the flying ones, but what if your team isn’t doing that? Right now it’s like if my team isn’t hard countering, we lose the game”.
Another player, PlatyNumb, agreed: “It’s rough. Every game now is IM, Storm, and Johnny and I’m already sick of trying to hit them. I usually pick someone right out the gate with fast-moving shots like Punisher but if they’re giving me too hard a time I switch to someone who just autoaims”.
Now, we know that fliers are fun to play, but they do make the game way harder for some players. That doesn’t mean that the devs should stop creating flying Heroes, but rather that they should give the non-fliers creative solutions for dealing with the menaces from the above.
The devs have been carefully listening to players recently, so this might catch their attention. So, feel free to voice your wishes and concerns, as long as they are helpful and constructive. In the meantime, enjoy the game, and see you out there.
