Umamusume: Pretty Derby is all about racing horse girls, training them, and getting them to place in big races. In order to get the girls running, both you and the horse will need to have energy to use.

The energy you need to train in Umamusume is called Training Points or TP, and you can gain more of these points through certain actions during the game. Here’s a complete guide for making sure you have enough points to spend on your favorite horses.

How to Gain More TP in Umamusume

When you first log into your Umamusume mobile or Steam account, you will start with 100 TP. This energy is slowly regained over time; you regain one Training Point every 10 real-time minutes with a cap of 100 TP. There is not currently a way to permanently raise your TP cap. However, you can instantly refill or overfill some or all of your TP using a variety of items. All the refill items will allow you to overfill your TP meter, bringing it above 100 until you have used those points. Here are all the items that are currently or previously available in the game that raises TP:

Toughness 30: Refills 30 TP. You can get these by completing quests, promo codes, and in events.
Carats: Carats are the premium currency in Umamusume. You can use 10 of them to refill 30 TP. Carats can be earned by playing the game or by playing real money. There is a difference between paid Carats and earned, free Carats, and you can use either for the refill.
Event Items: There are sometimes limited-time event items that will refill your TP by either 30 or 100. These can also be available by typing in some Umamusume: Pretty Derby promotional codes. Examples of this are:
- Refills or overfills 30 Training Points
  - Starfruit

  - Hat-Sablé
- Refills or overfills 100 Training Points
  - KFC Original Bucket

What is TP Used For In Umamusume?

Training points are energy that is used to complete Career Modes. Each Career Mode costs 30 TP to run through. This is the only thing that Training Points are used for in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, but this may change in the future. Since most event quests require players to do things in Career Mode, you technically need TP also to complete events like the Umamusume: Pretty Derby New Trainer Event.
