There are so many great horse girls to choose from in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, but Taiki Shuttle is one of the most beloved of them all. She’s one of the fastest racers you can get in Umamusume, and she can dominate career mode and PVP Team Trials with the right build.
Taiki Shuttle differs from the rest of the Umamusume roster because she was born in America and trained in Japan, giving her a much different vibe than the rest of the cast. She sports a lovable cowboy attitude with charming English voice lines, but she’s also a force to be reckoned with on the race track because of her stats and skills.

Umamusume Pretty Derby – All Characters (& How to Unlock Them)
There are many characters you can unlock as Trainees or Veterans in Umamusume: Pretty Derby; this guide shows how to get them and their stats.
Best Stats for Taiki Shuttle
Taiki Shuttle is a Pace Chaser who specializes in Sprint/Mile races on Turf tracks (with a B aptitude in Dirt as well), so Speed is hands-down the most important stat for her. She has a 20% growth rate bonus to Speed, too, so you should really try to hit 1000 Speed or higher with Taiki Shuttle in career mode. She’s insanely fast if you consistently train Speed.
She doesn’t need a lot of Stamina since the longest races she’ll run are on Mile tracks, so you can get away with only 300-400 Stamina. That only applies if you have some energy recovery skills, however. If you don’t get any blue skills during her career, you’ll need about 500-600 to be safe. It’s highly recommended to grab one or two energy skills so you can spend more time training Speed, though. It’ll pay off tremendously in the long run.
You’ll want to minimize the amount of resting time for Taiki Shuttle so you can get her Speed stat as high as possible. Use Support Card events to recover energy whenever possible. Choose dialogue options that mention taking it easy or not pushing yourself too hard to maximize energy gains in between turns.
Power is the second most important stat for Taiki Shuttle. Power is crucial for short races, so Taiki Shuttle should ideally have 700-800 Power by the end of her career. If you skimp on Power, she’ll have a harder time navigating around other racers and breaking out of the pack to secure the lead. Since her races are so short, there’s not a lot of time for that in the first place, so you need to make sure she has sufficient Power.
Wit goes a long way for Taiki Shuttle, too, especially since she has a 10% growth rate bonus for it. You can use Wit training to recovery some energy instead of resting — especially if you have good Wit Support Cards — and that’ll bring Taiki Shuttle’s Wit up a decent amount. Her races are short, so she can’t waste time. You need to have her Wit high enough so she knows how to use her skills when the time comes. 500-600 Wit is the sweet spot for Taiki Shuttle.
Guts is somewhat important for Taiki Shuttle since she’s a Pace Chaser who takes the lead at the last second, but her other stats take priority. 300-400 Guts is all you need for Taiki Shuttle. Guts training does increase her other stats as well, though, so you can squeeze in some Guts training every now and then if your Support Cards all end up in the Guts section on any given day. Again, her races are so short that she won’t really need the extra energy boost from the Guts stat, and her skills and Speed will be the determining force in races.
Best Support Cards for Taiki Shuttle
The best Support Card deck for Taiki Shuttle includes three Speed Cards, two Power cards, and either a Guts or Wit card to fill in the last slot. Really, you can get away with any deck as long as you have enough Speed cards.
These are some of the best Support Cards for Taiki Shuttle in Umamusume.
- Kitasan Black (Speed)
- Special Week (Speed)
- Nishino Flower (Speed)
- Sweep Tosho (Speed)
- Eishin Flash (Speed)
- Super Creek (Stamina)
- Satono Diamond (Stamina)
- Mayano Top Gun (Stamina)

- El Condor Pasa (Power)
- Daitaku Helios (Power)
- Agnes Digital (Power)
- Haru Urara (Guts)
- Matikanetannhauser (Guts)
- Fine Motion (Wit)
- Daiwa Scarlet (Wit)
- Nice Nature (Wit)
- Agnes Tachyon (Wit)
The above list has a solid mixture of SSR and SR Support Cards, so you probably have at least a few of them. You can also borrow some of the SSRs from a friend if you need to, especially for Support Cards that benefit from being uncapped like Kitasan Black.
The best Speed cards for Taiki Shuttle are Kitasan Black and Nishino Flower, but Sweep Tosho and Eishin Flash are incredibly strong SR replacements as well. You don’t need a ton of Stamina, but if you do want to run a Stamina card, then Super Creek is the best one in that category. Vodka is hands-down the best Power card, but the others work just fine if you don’t have her.
If you do choose to run a Guts card with Taiki Shuttle, then you can’t go wrong with Matikanetannhauser because of her incredible support events. They trigger all the time, so you’ll definitely feel her impact. For the Wit section, Fine Motion is the best possible choice, but Nice Nature and Daiwa Scarlet are solid SR alternatives.

One or two late-race debuff skills for Front Runners will greatly increase Taiki Shuttle’s chances of taking the lead as well.
While she doesn’t need a whole lot of stamina, unlocking an energy recovery skill like Hydrate lets you neglect Stamina training even further in favor of Speed and Power. Other than that, any skills that boost Taiki Shuttle’s acceleration at any point during the race are great options. Taiki Shuttle is incredibly easy to train as long as you follow the tips above, and she can carry you all the way to the URA Finale quite often.
