Warhorse Studios Confirm Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Will Have Playable Status on Steam Deck

Some amazing news came from the representatives of the Warhorse Studios. The upcoming Kingdom Come Deliverance II is going to be playable on Steam Deck. Obviously, the news raised excitement in the Steam Deck community, as the launch of this game on other platforms has been highly expected.

What Is Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and When Does It Drop?

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is an open-world action role-playing game, set to be released on February 4, 2024. The game is a direct sequel to the first installment. Thus, you’ll continue the story of Henry, the son of a blacksmith, and finally get to face Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund and his allies. The game takes place in the early 15th century.

According to developers: “Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a gripping tale of revenge, betrayal and discovery. Embark on an epic journey from a humble blacksmith’s forge to the court of Kings. From bustling city streets to lush forests, discover this open-world Medieval Europe through an unforgettable adventure filled with action, thrill, and wonder”.

On January 29, the devs took to social media and announced that Kingdom Come: Deliverance II would be playable on Steam Deck. In a post on X, the devs noted: “Take Henry’s journey on the go and experience medieval Bohemia wherever you may roam. KCD2 is officially playable on Steam Deck”.

Steam Deck Users Appreciate the Devs’ Dedication

Soon, the news spread through the Steam Deck community. Many players were extremely thankful that a game as complex as this one would be compatible with their devices from day one.

One user, Redd, praised: “To put a game that big and beautiful on a Steam Deck is impressive for the Steam Deck. And, impressive that Warhorse were able to optimize it enough to work. CANNOT WAIT TO PLAY THIS GAME”.

However, some players expressed reasonable concern that the game wouldn’t run perfectly. ToothlessFTW stated: “This isn’t verified. This is just “Playable” which means they’re not making the promise it’s a supported platform or a solid experience. It’s just saying it’s… well, playable on Deck”.

So, will you get it? Or will you wait for a while to see other players’ experiences? We’re quite excited to continue Henry’s story, so we’ll get it for sure. After all, we all deserve a treat and a little break sometimes.
