‘We Want To Continue That In The Show’ The Wheel Of Time Showrunner Wants To Introduce More [Spoiler] In Future Seasons

The Wheel of Time just aired its final episode for Season 3. Its showrunner, Rafe Judkins, shared more details about the finale.

The Wheel of Time is a fantasy television series developed by Judkins for Amazon Prime Video. It made its debut on the streaming platform in November 2021. Its second season followed two years later, in September 2023, and a third season was launched on March 13, 2025. Its third season just aired its final episode, giving the show a dark and heartbreaking ending. It hasn’t been officially greenlit for Season 4, but more stories remain to explore. So, fans are eagerly waiting for its renewal. Judkins is hopeful that they will return for more seasons and even shares his plans for Season 4.

Judkins sat down for an interview with The Hollywood Reporter ahead of the finale. The interviewer noticed that The Wheel of Time Season 3 introduced several Forsaken and more are still waiting to be featured. So, they were wondering how many more fans will see in the next season. Judkins confirmed that they already made ways to introduce a “few” more Forsaken in Season 4. “We’ve definitely laid the pieces for a few Forsaken to appear in next season who are new and maybe not so new that you will be excited to see onscreen,” the showrunner said. He added that it was as much as he could share. He also acknowledged the significance of the Forsaken in the plot, especially in how they were written in the books. So he plans to keep them and teases that more will be featured as they move along. He shared:

There are 13 Forsaken in the book, however, the TV series has hinted that it will only feature eight. This is reasonable since it’s unclear if the show will last long enough to cover the entire book series. At present, it hasn’t been officially greenlit for Season 4, but Rosamund Pike, who plays Moraine Damodred, a powerful Aes Sedai, and serves as a producer, is hopeful that they will return for more seasons. According to her, The Wheel of Time is “a big show” and Amazon and Sony are “incredibly lucky” to have it. As for the Forsaken, fans are convinced that Amazon’s The Wheel of Time TV series will only feature eight of the 13 Forsaken because in Season 1, Episode 5, “Blood Calls Blood,” Stepin has an altar with eight statues of the Forsaken – four females and four males. Seven of the eight have already been named — Ishamael, Lanfear, Moghedien, Sammael, Rahvin, Graendal, and Semirhage. However, only five of the seven revealed Forsaken have faces to their names – Ishamael (Fares Fares), Lanfear (Natasha O’Keeffe), Moghedien (Laia Costa), Sammael (Cameron Jack), and Rahvin (Nuno Lopes). The other two — Graendal and Semirhage — were only mentioned by name. This leaves many fans wondering who could be the last Forsaken to make it into the show.

The last Forsaken that could be featured in the show is likely Asmodeon. This is because the sixth Forsaken statue on Stepin’s altar appears to be holding a guitar. Asmodeon is a renowned composer and musician during the Age of Legends. Hopefully, Amazon will officially renew the show for more seasons, so fans will get to see the rest of the Forsaken without faces in the show and be able to confirm if the eighth one is Asmodeon. And if possible, hopefully, the quality of the series will be maintained, as well as its viewership, so it can last long enough to cover the entire book. In this way, fans will not just see eight Forsaken but all 13 of them. There’s always a way to extend the show beyond fans’ assumptions, especially since the source material still has more to offer.
