“We Were Wrong” The Street Fighter 6 Collab Gets an Official Trailer and the Monster Hunter Wilds Community Is Actually Excited

It’s official! After dropping several hints, Monster Hunter Wilds Developers finally confirmed that the first collaboration would be with Street Fighter 6. Even though the community has been quite vocal about rather wanting various other collabs, the players seem quite eager to try everything out.

First Monster Hunter Wilds Collab Drops on May 28

On May 22, Capcom confirmed the first-ever collab for MHW. The developers shared the trailer and the details about this collab. The devs noted: “A demon begins his HUNT. Become the master of the fist with the Monster Hunter Wilds x Street Fighter 6 Special Collaboration! The free Akuma hunter layered armor with special actions and Blanka-chan Palico layered armor arrive on May 28, alongside a cosmetic collaboration paid DLC pack”.

The trailer is quite exciting, but let’s go over everything that awaits in this collab. The devs shared all the details on the official MH site. So, the collab drops on May 28. And it’s permanent, meaning that all the items that will be added will be there to stay.

Speaking of items, a part of the collab will be completely free, but there will also be a paid DLC. To get the free items, you’ll have to complete the new side mission Ultimate Strength, and the accompanying collab arena quests Demonic Strength and True Strength for additional rewards. The special collab rewards include: “Akuma” hunter full armor set and layered equipment, “Blanka-Chan” Palico full armor set and layered equipment, Hunter Profile background, nameplate, and pose.

The devs added: “You can unleash your inner demon by equipping the ‘Akuma’ full armor set or full layered armor set. Equipping either set allows you to use Akuma’s unique item and gestures to perform his fighting moves”.

Finally, the paid DLC includes two Alma outfits (Chun-Li and Cammy), the Blanka-Chan Doll pendant, a set of six stickers, and three gestures. All these items are sold separately.

Players Love the Street Fighter 6 Collab

Surprisingly enough, Monster Hunter Wilds players actually like the Street Fighter 6 collab. As you know, the players were quite adamant about disliking the idea of this collab, but it seems they warmed up to it once the trailer dropped.

One player dediualex3554 noted: “I mean okkkkk this looks kinda sick. The fact that we can legit box the monsters is kinda cool, I was expecting it to be just cosmetic but ok ok”. Many players agreed that this was well beyond their expectations.

Aeon-the-Voidmind stated: “Lost my mind when Akuma said ‘Hunt 1000 hunts!!!’ And proceeded to monster hunt all over the place. Truly cinema”. An honorable mention has to go to “Desecrate!”.
