“Welcome, Cadets!” Helldivers 2 Goes on Sale Just as the Major Order Prioritizes Low Level Missions

It seems that for the last several days, everyone has been talking about Helldivers 2. Now, that isn’t even slightly surprising, as the latest update finally brought the fight for Managed Democracy to Super Earth. Naturally, quite a few new players wanted to join the Galactic War. So, it was quite lovely to see Arrowhead take some measures to welcome them. Not only is Helldivers 2 on a nice sale, but the current Major Order gently nudged all the players to play the missions on lower difficulties.

A Sale and a Well-Designed Major Order Will Bring More Cadets

As you know, when the Heart of Democracy update dropped, there was a huge influx of players within hours. At some point, more than 200k Helldivers were fighting on Super Earth. Those are the biggest numbers since the game launched.

The success of the update brought quite a few new players. Imagine the Battle for Super Earth being your first mission ever. We’d be petrified! So, the devs made some adjustments to allow new players to acclimate, but still allow the seasoned veterans to enjoy.

First of all, Helldivers 2 is going to be on a 20% sale until May 27. That means that you can get the game for only $31.99 via Steam. As far as we know, this is as low as the price ever has been, so if you’ve been eyeing this game for a while, now is your chance!

Second, the current Major Order asks the players to extract from completed missions 20 million times. That’s quite a number, and if the players exclusively played on difficulty 10, it would be an impossible task. However, if the players played on levels 1-4, this MO is quite doable!

Helldivers 2 Veterans Gladly Help the Rookies

We’ve mentioned it before, and we’ll always say it again—this community is quite wholesome. Helldivers have launched an initiative to help all the new players in their first battles on Super Earth. Now, this isn’t some new occurrence. Veterans have done similar actions before, and they’ll surely do them again in the future.

The devs cleverly designed the current MO so that there is some pressure on all the players. And, of course, the players who enjoy playing on higher level difficulties can do just so. But the ones who choose to play on lower levels will contribute more, and they’ll have a chance to meet the new generation of Helldivers.

SublimeCosmos noted: “I usually play on D10, but given the current MO, I thought I’d play it smart and grind out a bunch of missions on low difficulty. I did an SOS on Trivial and it joined me with a new player. We ended up playing a bunch of missions together, and it was a really fun session, showing him how the game works. So maybe we can train up some new divers while we are grinding out missions. For Super Earth”.

You can always bring lots of cool equipment for the new players to try out, offer them some pointers, and still complete the mission and extract way faster than you would on a higher difficulty. One player, Pedrosian96, stated: “My favorite way to grind SC brainlessly is to join D2 / D3 missions and bring the coolest sh** I have so that new players can try them”.

For the first couple of days of Squids’ invasion, we all had an opportunity to fight on the highest-level difficulties. However, after watching so many SEAF troops be obliterated, we’re choosing to take it slow over the weekend. You’ll find us on Super Earth, we’ll bring the FRV and the mechs, alongside all the finest weapons we own. Let’s help out the cadets. For Liberty and Super Earth.
