These Engrams bring some nice cosmetics (and some filler, of course.)
Destiny 2‘s new Nonary Engrams unlock some rare cosmetics for free, including collab items from The Witcher and removed Crimson Days items. And if that sounds too good to be true, there’s a catch involved: they’re only available during the Rite of the Nine event.
Nonary Engrams are guaranteed to give you an item you don’t already have, according to their description. This is in line with our experience, which has given us only unowned items—and some were outside of the listed drops.
Here are all the items you can obtain from Nonary Engrams and how you can get them in Destiny 2.
How to get Nonary Engrams in Destiny 2

Nonary Engrams are available for purchase at the Emissary in the Rites of the Nine social hub. Each one costs 350 Nonary Manifolds, and you can buy up to 20 through the vendor’s menu.
In addition to those 20 Engrams, you’ll earn one Nonary Engram for free each day you log in between July 8 and 15 (the release date for Edge of Fate, the next expansion).
If you need more Nonary Manifolds, you can run dungeons on any mode, though your drops increase with higher difficulties and better scores. You can also dump your Curios of the Nine if you haven’t already. Don’t forget to do bounties while you’re at it, since those give you a small amount of the currency.
What do Nonary Engrams contain in Destiny 2?
Nonary Engrams contain a suite of different cosmetics. Some of these are your garden-variety weapon ornaments, such as the basic Kingmaker ornament for Queenbreaker, which was available as a Twitch drop years ago and adds a plain yellow coat of paint to the weapon.
Others are returning Crimson Days items, old finishers (usually sold for Silver), and new Holo-Chips. Depending on RNG, you might also get something off-menu, though it’s unclear if this is a bug or a feature. We’ve listed what you can expect from each drop below.
All Nonary Engram items in Destiny 2
Here are all the items revealed to be in Nonary Engrams, as seen in Destiny 2 database light.gg and on the Emissary’s vendor menu.
These items may vary depending on your inventory. When we opened our 20 Nonary Engrams, we got a few items that don’t appear on the table above or in the Nonary Engram pool in the Emissary’s menu, so take this list as an approximation for confirmed items.
Some of the items we’ve obtained that weren’t on this list include the Aeviternal XXII ship (2018), the Propheteer Shell (2019), and the Bitcrushed Shell (2020).
What does Nonary Engrams “purchase limit reached” mean?
If you see the “purchase limit reached” message while hovering over the Emissary’s inventory, this means you’ve bought as many Nonary Engrams as you can. You can get another of these Engrams every day you log in between July 8 and 15 for a chance at extra goodies.
