The first anniversary has come and gone, but aside from the first episode of Chronicles of J.O.E.L and armor, there weren’t many surprises. Which was surprising on its own, as the players expected something big. The main suspect for why nothing happened was the unfortunate PSN problem, which has been fixed in the meantime. So, even though there’s no way to know when something big will happen, according to in-game files, we can safely say a lot will happen. The most recent Helldivers 2 leaks show off Warp Gates, which will most likely be a Squid spawner.
Leaks Share Details About the Warp Gates
One of the most prolific Helldivers 2 leakers, IronS1ghts, gave the Helldivers a gift to celebrate the anniversary. This leaker showcased something called Warp Gates. Truth be told, sounds ominous.
The OP noted: “An Illuminate spawner used exclusively by Illuminate “Cultists” during rituals. Functions for these have been in the files ever since release, and the name of them change a LOT throughout the files. They have been called Astral Rifts, Quantum Rifts, and Warp Gate There are audio files of divers saying “Opening a Warp Gate to Democracy” 0-0″.
As always, this leaker provided a rendered image of what they found. Even though we love this aesthetic, we’re simultaneously scared and excited about what horrors could come through this gate. Maybe some of the rumored Illuminate units which should join their roster soon?
Helldivers 2 Players Can’t Wait to Face the Horrors
Helldivers 2 players are just built differently, instead of being frightened by these leaks, the majority of players wished to face whatever was coming through the Warp Gates. Of course, it’s been a while since any of the storylines unraveled, so this might be understandable.
Der Deutsche noted: “I hope they add new stuff for me to suicide bomb in the Name of Super Earth and Democracy”. Patches added: “Jumping through it with the hell bomb backpack so I can take the fight home to Illuminate space”.
