What are we all playing this weekend?

It’s been a funny old week for us at RPS, but the games will continue. The games must continue. Or else, what was this all for?

Brendan
I’ve been quietly aching to play S.p.l.i.t, the creepy command-line interface game from the maker of Buckshot Roulette. If I can get that done, I’ll be happy. Well, maybe not happy, if Nic’s review is anything to go by. But sated.

This weekend I will continue to be aggravated at the bosses in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, some of which have taken me a good two or three hours to beat. I feel old playing these Soulslikes, man. Old! That said, it’s a good game and our guide coverage soldiers on, so there’s nothing else to do but try, try, and try again… Oh yeah, and if I have any bits of extra time, I’ll continue my playthroughs of Final Fantasy XII and Gotham Knights, which are so much more relaxing in comparison.

Nic
Is in a better place: Wales.

Wheel World turned out to be just what I needed: a light, bright, effervescent sparkle of a racer that soothes as much as it excites. I’ll second Brendy’s review on the banger density of its soundtrack as well, though I confess to recently misappropriating it by playing the whole thing during a lengthy, mostly first-gear drive through London in my petrol-quaffing car. I apologise. Please don’t haunt me with bike ghosts.

Edwin
I’ve got an embargoed thing I’d like to dip into this weekend. Beyond that, I might give Jack King-Spooner’s latest game Mashina and logic puzzler Tower Networking Inc a go.

Ollie
On his ninth marg tower.

Mark
Pending the arrival of a carrier pigeon that would change these plans, I’ll be spending the moments of this weekend that don’t see me sitting in a Yorkshire field continuing to blast my way through the Cyberpunk 2077 playthrough I’ve had going for a week and a bit now. Having never taken proper advantage of the edgerunner perk CD Projekt installed when they deployed Phantom Liberty, I’m installing more chrome than the average Pimp My Ride episode. Bionic knees, guns that shoot lightning bolts, an arm-mounted missile launcher, the whole techy nine yards. Just don’t ask my character to walk through an airport metal detector.

And you, reader dear, what are you playing this weekend?…
