Edwin got beat up the other day, so I suppose it’s up to me to ask what everyone’s playing this weekend. No extended joke here. He’s just absolutely battered. In pieces, really. God, that must have been humiliating for him.
Jeremy:
I’ve already finished Resident Evil Requiem, but as you may have heard by now, there’s a weird final puzzle ARG thing in the game that’s taking the brainpower of an entire fanbase to solve, so I’ll probably be keeping tabs on that over the weekend. My own brain is too cracked to figure it out myself, alas.
Mark:
I’m sorry to report that trying out the demo for ZA/UM’s Zero Parades the other week has led me to start another Disco Elysium playthrough. I’ve been picking through it rather casually so far, only an hour or so at a time. Outside of that, maybe some American Truck Simulator or campervanning in Outbound’s Next Fest demo.
Callum:
Didn’t respond, it may be too late for him
Julian:
I’m trying to play through a stack of Steam Next Fest demos, but I keep coming back to Minos. I’m a sucker for the Orcs Must Die series so its trap-filled roguelike labyrinth is right up my street. Though, as I hope to write about next week, despite its initial similarities to OMD, Minos is doing something that’s giving the puzzle-enjoying part of my brain a big ol’ squeeze.
Edwin, through pained wheezes:
I’ll be catching up on a few games I missed from the week before – philoso-platformer Love Eternal and peacenik folklore bullet hell Key Fairy. I’ve been playing the new Resi, but stopped after getting to the bit from my SGF demo in 2024. I fear I am growing weary of Resident Evil, partly because I’m in the process of updating our best horror games list, and thinking about more transgressive games I might wish to include.
Dion:
Oh no, they got Dion too
Ollie:
The Marathon server slam. What else? It’s an extraction shooter, and it has adorable pink cyber-cats. It’s my dream game.
James:
I have no plans beyond watching my email inbox to see if an invite to the Horizon: Hunters Gathering playtest appears within it. Well, I think it looks fun.
And you, reader dear, what are you playing this weekend?…
