It’s always cool to have something to look forward to. The devs have been quite tight-lipped about what’s to come, aside from some fixes. And, well, it’s kind of hard to daydream about fixes and performance improvements, right? So, naturally, the players love to get some yet-to-be-revealed details from data miners and leakers, especially if they are vague enough to leave some space for imagination. Well, these leaks do, as, reportedly, a new Terminid Strain could be coming to Helldivers 2.
Leaks Show Off a Possible Planet Effect – a New Terminid Strain
One of the most prolific Helldivers 2 leakers, IronS1ghts, is back at it! This time, IronS1ghts discovered a new planet effect in the game files. It seems that the players will have to collect quite a lot of E-710 at some point!
This leaker noted: “(Leak) E-710 Rich Terminid Strain. This is a planet effect that will probably be used in a Major Order. Things like this tend to change a bit over time, so we’ll see what happens to it in the future”.

As always, IronS1ghts included an image of what they found. So, we can see this effect applied to Klen Dahth II. The description reads: “E-710 Rich Strain. The Terminids on this planet have evolved to yield more E-710 than other specimens”.

Also, before you freak out over this effect being on Klen Dahth II, the OP explained that it was just the planet they applied the effect to. They noted: “I applied this effect to Klen Dahth II as a test. This is not the planet it natively appears on”.
Furthermore, the OP clarified if the new strain meant new bugs. IronS1ghts stated: “Right now it seems to be exclusively story related, so no new bugs sadly (not yet at least)”.
Helldivers Ponder the Future
Even though Helldivers 2 players were slightly disappointed that the leaks of a new Terminid strain didn’t necessarily mean new bug types, they were excited by a possible new storyline. Or, at the very least, the unfolding of an existing one.
As you probably know, the bugs in the Gloom are already known to yield a lot of E-710. However, this seems slightly different. Naturally, players had plenty of theories about when they’d encounter the E-710 Rich strain. The main one is that the Helldivers will go further into the Gloom.
EVIL WIZARD noted: “Ah, yes, these worlds will likely be the ‘originators’ for Gloom-affected Terminids types like the Predator strain”. Pesky Sites added: “This feels odd. All gloom bugs are supposed to be more ‘e-710 rich’. Until now, we’ve only seen the ‘light’ spore density parts of the gloom. Maybe this is a placeholder for bugs that’ll appear in the denser Gloom”.
So, what awaits in the denser parts of the Gloom? Well, that’s the beauty of leaks like these! It could be anything you imagine. We hope we’ll get to befriend some more Scavengers! It’ll be a while before we find out, but don’t worry, there’s plenty to do in the meantime. Join us on Achernar Secundus, let’s complete the current Major Order. For Liberty and Super Earth.
