“What Do You Mean New Super Earth?!” The Democracy Officer’s Unsettling Comment Confounds the Helldivers 2 Community

Another day, another shock! Helldivers 2 community was shaken to its core when the players heard the Democracy Officer mention New Super Earth. That’s extremely undemocratic for a Democracy Officer, wouldn’t you agree? Well, let’s dive into what happened and why!

Why Is the Democracy Officer Talking About a New Super Earth?

We’ve heard plenty of reports of the Democracy Officer’s undemocratic behavior over the last couple of days. Or, rather, since the latest patch. And then, it happened! Just as we were approaching the Galactic Map, he said it, loud and clear! The Democracy Officer stated: “Hmm… New Super Earth… A perfect name”.

Unfortunately, we weren’t recording at the time, but many players did record this interaction. One of them, RageDrakus, shared the recording with the community. Yup, he said it loud and clear!

What on Super Earth is going on? Should you be worried, or even report the Democracy Officer? Well, don’t worry, the majority of Helldivers feel that this voiceline was added in case the Battle for Super Earth was lost. So it’s probably just a bug.

Some players were pleasantly surprised that the devs prepared both scenarios, showing that the storyline wasn’t actually scripted. Nod3013 noted: “Ok, I´m honestly impressed that they had a different outcome planned for the invasion campaign. Now I´m wondering how this storyline would have been going”.

Maffingo added: “Makes you wonder how much content is ‘wasted’ when we progress through the story. Arrowhead probably has to do double the work to account for the two different outcomes of the Illuminate invasion”.

Players, Take Care of Super Earth

We are oh-so-very proud of all the Helldivers (and SEAF troops!) who fought in the Battle for Super Earth. However, Helldivers 2 players might still need to be a bit worried about the Democracy Officer’s comment about New Super Earth. We might not have lost it this time, but at the risk of sounding undemocratic, Super Earth could be attacked again. The voiceline didn’t mention the Battle for Super Earth.

Recently, quite a few leaks dropped, and they showcased the upcoming Illuminate units and some new beams. So, who knows, maybe the Squids will try to take over Super Earth again. Also, other factions might also give it a go. It’s up to Helldivers to protect the Heart of Democracy.

As a reminder, the current Major Order started with massive Terminid breakouts on Super Earth! So, the bugs have reached the most democratic of all planets (for now). Fortunately, at the time of writing this article, the breakouts were dealt with. Still, the looming threat remains.

So, dear Helldiver, let’s try our best to complete this one. You can find us on Inari, for the time being. We’ll be in our full Force of Law drip. Let’s squish some bugs in style. For Liberty and Super Earth.
