Let’s face it, Helldivers haven’t had a lot of success in the Second Galactic War. Don’t get us wrong, spreading Managed Democracy is all the players ever want to do, but the fact is, there is much more to war than just killing enemies. With the recent losses, one has to wonder if the Helldivers 2 players will be able to stop the Meridian Singularity from reaching Super Earth. Concerned Helldivers suggested some possible things that could happen if the wormhole gets too close to the most democratic of all the planets.
How Was the Meridian Singularity Created and Why Is It Headed to Super Earth?
Back in June 2024, Helldivers blew up Meridia and created a black hole. For a while, it was inactive, and nothing happened. However, as time passed, the players who went on a pilgrimage to the black hole noticed some changes.
Soon after, the very best Super Earth scientists found out that the black hole turned into a wormhole. Just as the hype around the wormhole started dying down, Warp Links connecting the wormhole to surrounding planets started disappearing. Helldivers watched in awe, thinking that was it, the wormhole was bound to explode, or some new enemies would come through it. Well, no, that didn’t happen.
The wormhole, now usually called the Meridian Singularity, started moving toward Super Earth! It was revealed that the Illuminati were behind this stunt. They are fueling the Singularity with Dark Energy harvested from the planets they attacked. Presumably, their goal is to blow up Super Earth and take over the galaxy.
It’s been almost two months since the Meridian Singularity started its journey toward Super Earth. So far, Helldivers have lost Angel’s Venture and Moradesh. Both of these losses could have been easily prevented if the community had worked together. Ivis is the next planet in the Singularity’s path, with Nublaria I, Pilen V, and New Haven also being at risk.

Helldivers Ponder the Grim Future
Obviously, it’s highly undemocratic that Helldivers 2 players would even suggest the Meridian Singularity could ever come close to Super Earth. However, with the current track record, it isn’t impossible. So, some players offered their visions.
Dyl302 suggested: “Will the black hole lose integrity/not completely destroy Super Earth? But, maybe a massive month-long MO of just ‘Rebuilding Super Earth’. Then all the factions essentially take over the Galaxy, and it’s gonna be a massive enemy front to destroy and reclaim worlds? I also wouldn’t mind like a ‘scrap Destroyer’ option, where it does reset your ship but adds 0.0001% to the % of a rebuild earth MO or something”.
Another player, Flaky-Motor-8142, noted: “Logically, they could of course just send it through Super Earth and be done with it. Plot-wise, it probably makes for a better story for them to park it as close to Super Earth as possible. And, then pull their fleet or whatever else through the wormhole into SE space”.
Now, we think this theory might be closest to the devs’ vision. There have been leaks of some yet-to-be-released Illuminate units. It’s possible that the devs are just waiting for Helldivers to stop the Meridian Singularity before releasing them. So, let’s stop it as soon as possible. The current Major Order is going well, so join us on Esker. For Liberty and Super Earth.
