“What If We Go Through It?” Helldivers 2 Players Suggest a Wild Theory About the Meridia Wormhole

All Helldivers have been impatiently waiting for the former black hole to do something. Even though it seems as if it has grown, nothing major has happened yet. Many players believe that the rest of Illuminate will come through it, maybe for the game’s first anniversary. However, some players have much bolder ideas. According to some Helldivers 2 players’ theory, nothing will come out of the wormhole, we’ll go through it.

What if the Devs Plan to Send Helldivers Through the Wormhole?

As you probably know, the black hole (now wormhole) was created at the beginning of June. Meridia veterans insist that this mission was one of the most demanding ones so far. So, everyone expected something big to happen. Still, more than six months later, players remain hopeful and dream of possible scenarios.

One Helldiver, WeatherWitchAlex, dreamt up an amazing theory. As you know, the current Major Order has the players helping the Super Earth scientists by collecting Samples. This is all for the scientists to be able to continue their research on the E-710 extracted from the bugs from the Gloom.

Reportedly, you can get up to 10 times more E-710 from the bugs from the Gloom. According to scientists, that could have a huge impact on FTL travel. Furthermore, it would allow Helldivers to explore previously unreachable places. Well…

The OP noted: “My early morning theory is that we will use this to explore THROUGH AND BEYOND THE MERIDIA WORMHOLE! The original notice for this major order talked about how we could use this for FTL travel beyond current colonial and military uses. We can already travel within our territory with relative ease with our Super Destroyers. What if we can take the fight to the squids with this new limit-breaking technology? WE CAN FIGHT THEM ON THEIR HOME TURF AND AVENGER ALL THE CITIZENS THAT HAVE BEEN STRIPPED OF THEIR FREEDOM AND ABILITY TO VOTE”.

Helldivers 2 Players Offer a Twist on the Theory

Obviously, the Helldivers 2 players loved this wormhole theory. Now, we know, it isn’t likely to come to fruition, but, you have to admit, it’s amazing. Imagine getting into your super destroyer and casually going through the wormhole to spread some Managed Democracy on the Squids’ home planet. That would be a dream come true for many Helldivers.

Some players, like tacticslancer, offered their takes on the idea. This player suggested that Helldivers should open the wormhole and send the scientists through it. Then, Joel should let the war take its course, if Helldivers win, they should go through the wormhole and continue spreading Managed Democracy. If Helldivers lose, well, they can escape through the wormhole and start over in another galaxy.

This player stated: “We get Illuminate as the main enemy (with their full roster), we’d probably bring a ‘docile’ bug colony for fuel (which will go horribly wrong) and the Automatons will eventually find themselves there. Maybe there’ll be a fourth faction that the Illuminate were keeping in check”.

Truth be told, that sounds just perfect. So, we hope that the devs have some plans similar to this one, as the players would be ecstatic if this were to happen.
