A lot of new data has been added with the latest update. Even though lots of it is still inactive in the game, data miners have been hard at work, discovering all kinds of upcoming content. Sure enough, some leakers took a closer look at the files related to the Gloom. They were probably quite shocked by what they found. There are plenty of new leaks that show what being in the Gloom for so long did to Terminids in Helldivers 2.
Gloom Turned the Already Hard-to-Look-at Terminids Into Monsters
Let’s start with the leaked Strohmann News announcing the Gloom expedition. Asunderknight shared the leaked video with Helldivers. In it, Coretta Kelly, the renowned host, talks about an upcoming large-scale expedition into the Gloom.
As you know, since it appeared, the Gloom has been covering a large portion of the bugs’ territory. This spooky “biological abnormality” has to be further studied. Thus, according to Ms. Kelly, the Helldivers were entrusted with leading an expedition into this hostile environment. Obviously, at the time of recording this Newsreel, no one could predict the horrors that awaited in the Gloom.
Well, the same leaker, Asunderknight, also found the “Gloomed” bugs in the files. The OP showcased the Gloom variants of Warriors, Scavengers, and Hunters. And, well, this is what nightmares are made of.
The Gloom is obviously thick enough, so no sunlight reaches these unfortunate creatures. They strongly resemble olms and other cave animals living in perpetual darkness. We can’t help but wonder if the missions in the Gloom will be in complete darkness. What a horrifying idea.
Helldivers 2 Players Don’t Discriminate Terminids
It would be an understatement to say that Helldivers 2 players were absolutely disgusted by these leaks and the unfortunate Terminids from the Gloom. Yet, many Helldivers were still quite intrigued by these pale monsters.
Elohim333 noted: “I swear upon Lady Liberty to only use the worst, Geneva convention-breaking guns on those motherf**kers. Especially the gloomed hunters, I know already that they deserve death”.
Others politely asked the leaker to put these back and never show them again. Also, some players noticed something rather concerning. There were no Chargers, Bile Titans, or Stalkers in this ugly bunch of bugs. We can’t bear to even think about those variants.
So, dear Helldiver, for the time being, enjoy the galaxy without these creatures. The new Major Order is against the Jet Brigade, which somehow seems like quite an easy feat. So, join us on the bot front. For Liberty and Super Earth.
