What Should the Helldivers 2 Players Expect From the Possible Presidential Elections?

Just as the Battle for Super Earth entered its final hours, it happened. The most democratic president died. While the citizens, SEAF troops, and Helldivers players mourn, a question arises. Will Helldivers 2 players get to vote in the presidential elections? If so, what will the campaign look like?

Helldivers Mourn the President

The players were surprised by the announcement of the president’s death. Just as things started looking better for Super Earth, its president lost their life… heroically. So, what happened?

The High Command made an in-game announcement. It stated: “President KIA. The President of Super Earth has been killed in action by the Illuminate during the siege of Prosperity City. The President died heroically, defending the Presidential Security bunker with only a pistol against waves of Illuminate foes. Presidential authority has been placed in the Minister of Defense”.

Helldivers were deeply saddened by this announcement. One player noted: “We must avenge the president. Kill the Squids every last one of them. MAKE SURE THAT EACH DEATH FOR THEM IS AS PAINFUL AS THE LAST”.

Another player, logan, added: “Everything we need for the new MO after this one ends titled ‘vote for super president’. In which all you need to do is vote for the new super president”. Well… funny they should mention…

Helldivers Might Get to Vote in the Presidential Elections

Believe it or not, there are some leaks claiming the presidential elections will be held in Helldivers 2. These rumors have been circulating since November 2024. The candidates will supposedly be Winston Richman Jr. Sr, Gun Ingbrit Morgunsdottir, and Daiyu Hatchet. You can get more info on them here.

Basically, these candidates are all funded by big corporations (Ulterior, Strohmann, and Permacure). Furthermore, each one of them promises quite a lot, and choosing the president might come with some perks.

IronS1ghts, the well-known leaker, noted: “Each candidate has a unique passive reward, ranging from support bonuses to additional weapons/stratagems. (These stratagems will not take up a slot). Some of these stratagems were previously: Medical Backpack Medical Resupply (Stims) Both Mechs Tactical Nuclear Warhead (This was changed to Missile Silo) You can vote for your preferred candidate at the “Election Terminal” in your Super Destroyer”.

However, keep in mind that we have to liberate Super Earth first. At the time of writing this article, Helldivers are extremely close to winning in the Battle for Super Earth.
