What to expect from Path of Exile 2’s ‘The Third Edict’ update

The most noticeable additions in “The Third Edict” are the fourth act of the campaign and the three temporary interlude missions. With these in the game, you won’t have to play through the first and third acts twice to reach the endgame portion of Path of Exile 2. The interludes are, however, temporary. Once acts five and six are implemented, they will be removed.

Another small but significant change involves Support Gems. After this next update, there won’t be a limitation on the number of similar Support Gems you can equip. According to Jonathan Rogers from Grinding Gear Games, this change gives room for players to come up with a greater number of builds and work on creating combos, instead of focusing on the single one which has a Support Gem. A new type of gem called Lineage Support Gems is also being added to the game.

Although the game is not receiving new classes, the ones already in the game are receiving buffs. This is great since a new league called “Rise of the Abyssal” will begin, which is a great chance to test the limits of your favorite classes.

Lastly, new and old players can experience all these changes since Path of Exile 2 will be free to play during the first weekend of the update. From Aug. 29 to Sept. 1, new players won’t need to buy an early access key to play the game, and all the progress during the weekend will be saved.
