When will Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle be available on streaming?

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle was an overwhelming success, taking over movie theaters worldwide and reaching record-breaking box office results. With over $555 million earned after its release (on July 18 in Japan and Sept. 12 in the U.S.), Infinity Castle is now officially the highest-earning anime movie of all time, beating the previous feature film in the franchise, Mugen Train.

The visual spectacle delivered by Ufotable has to be seen to be believed. While the movie sometimes struggles with its pacing due to the many flashbacks that break the action, Infinity Castle Part 1 is still an amazing experience. The captivating graphics and exciting battles can indeed be best appreciated on a big screen, but plenty of fans are wondering when they will get a chance to watch the movie at home, especially with no confirmed date yet for when the next installment in the trilogy will be released.

No official announcement has been made at the moment regarding when Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle will land on streaming services.

However, we can look at precedent to figure out when Infinity Castle might go to streaming. Mugen Train became available on Crunchyroll exclusively on June 22, 2021, eight months after it was released in theaters on Oct. 16, 2020. This period seems consistent with Demon Slayer’s latest theatrical release before Infinity Castle, Demon Slayer: To the Hashira Training, the compilation movie that served as a bridge between the third and fourth seasons of the anime, which also became available on Crunchyroll eight months after its theatrical debut. However, this case is different, because this movie simply included the last episode of the third season and the first episode of the fourth, which was then broadcast on Crunchyroll three months later.

Similarly, the precedent set by Mugen Train should be taken with a grain of salt. The movie was slightly expanded and turned into the first half of season 2 of the anime, which started airing in Japan in October 2021, and in English on Crunchyroll in November 2023. There are no confirmed plans to air Infinity Castle as an anime season too, as had happened with Mugen Train. Six to eight months remains a good estimate, but it’s also possible that Infinity Castle Part 1 will become available on Crunchyroll sooner.

Once again, we have no official information on a release date for Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 on Blu-ray and DVD. Mugen Train was released in that format on the same day that it began streaming on Crunchyroll, so the same timeline will likely apply.

If you can’t wait to watch Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and the Hashira take the fight to Muzan and his Upper Moons inside the demons’ stronghold, you can always pass the time rewatching the entire series, which is available on Crunchyroll, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu.

If you’re looking for a similar series to whet your appetite, then check out Jujutsu Kaisen for more supernatural battles against demonic creatures. If you are intrigued by the grounded characters and historical setting that make Demon Slayer stand out, then Vinland Saga may be what you’re looking for.
