Fishing is one of the most relaxing things to do in Tales of the Shire. Bywater has plenty of ponds and rivers full of fish. You can catch them to earn some money or use them in tasty recipes. You can then share these meals with the villagers to grow your fellowship with them, which will help them progress in the story.
At the beginning of the game, most fishing spots will be locked, but as you progress, you will unlock more areas. Below, you’ll find a list of all fish and where to catch them in Tales of the Shire, along with details on how to unlock the fishing rod.

How to Fish in Tales of the Shire
You can get the fishing rod in the early hours of the game. During the Finding Your Feet quest, you’ll need to talk to Old Noakes when you are searching for the Old Book of Rules. He won’t really help you with the book, but instead, he will teach you about fishing. He will give you a fishing rod and take you to Old Ruby’s Pond. After catching three fish there, the fishing rod will officially be unlocked for you to use anytime.
Once you have the fishing rod, you can visit any unlocked fishing location to start fishing. Early on, Tales of the Shire fans will only have access to a few areas, including Old Ruby’s Pond, Old Stone Bridge Pool, Tree Root Pool, and Cotton Farm Pond.
To upgrade your rod, you’ll need to level up the Fishing Club. You will have to unlock it first by completing the Restore the Fishing Club quest, and then, you can level it up by catching more fish.
