Where to Find Double-Barred Finch in Heartopia

In Heartopia, there’s always something to look forward to if you’ve unlocked the Bird Watching Hobby. With dozens of bird species scattered across the island, completing your Birdwatching collection can take quite some time. One bird you’ll eventually want to track down is the Double-Barred Finch. It is a small bird that’s easy to overlook due to its size and subtle coloring, especially when you’re exploring busier areas of the map in Heartopia.

Heartopia: Insect Catching Hobby Guide

Here’s everything you need to know about the Insect Catching Hobby in Heartopia.

Where to Find Double-Barred Finch in Heartopia

You can find the Double-Barred Finch at the Fishing Village Lighthouse in Heartopia. However, it will only appear once you reach Level 3 in the Bird Watching Hobby. If you’re below this level, the bird will not spawn at all, no matter how long you wait or how many times you revisit the area.

Once you meet the level requirement, the Double-Barred Finch has very flexible spawn conditions. It can appear all day and spawns during Sunny, Rainy, and Rainbow weather, so there’s no need to wait for specific conditions before heading out.

You’ll want to spend some time circling the lighthouse area, scanning nearby railings, rocks, and open ground. Since the bird blends easily into its surroundings, it’s easy to miss.

If you’re not at Level 3 yet, focus on photographing common birds in early areas. Wait for pose animations before snapping photos and turn in Info Cards to Bailey J. for rewards.

Like most birds in Heartopia, the Double-Barred Finch will fly away if you get too close. Charging straight toward it is a bad idea. Instead, equip your scanner before entering the lighthouse area and approach at a steady, calm pace.

Remember, birds perform different actions, such as standing still or chirping, and these directly affect the star rating of your photo. Waiting for a chirping animation is the best way to secure a higher-quality Info Card. Skills like Perfect Photo and Observation Skill also make a noticeable difference when trying to capture higher-star images.

Take your time around the Fishing Village Lighthouse, stay patient with your scanner, and aim for high-quality photos to get the most out of your encounter with the Double-Barred Finch.
