Where to get aketine in Arknights: Endfield

In Arknights: Endfield, aketine is a material you can find around Talos-2 to make Industrial Explosives (and you will have to make some of these for a story quest). These explosives are useful to keep on-hand as it’ll let you crack open passageways that you wouldn’t be able to otherwise, but aketine seems like a fairly rare material to find.

Lucky for you, you can automate your base to turn it into an endless aketine-making machine, as long as you have at least one aketine to work from.

Below, we explain where to find aketine in Arknights: Endfield and how to use gardening machines to make more.

You can find aketine growing in the Valley Pass area, along the Abandoned Trail. There are a few spots you can find this spiky plant growing.

Be careful as there are some baddies near some of these aketine spots, and just generally along the path.

Once you have this aketine, you can just return here later to get more… or you can build a little aketine factory that allows you to get an infinite amount.

How to make more aketine in Arknights: Endfield

To make an aketine factory, you’ll need to at least have the Basic AIC II tree unlocked, which requires you to complete the “Paving the Way” story quest early on. After completing the quest, you’ll get an item that allows you to unlock this row of the AIC skill tree.

With that unlocked, you’ll just need to unlock the Planting node in the Processing section using a Basic AIC Index (the items you get for popping the wacky arm inflatables around the map). This will give you the ability to place Seed-Picking Units and Planting Units.

As the name implies, the Seed-Picking Unit will turn your plants into seeds, and the Planting Units will plant the seeds to turn them into crops. Each single plant you give the Seed-Picking Unit will yield two seeds. So as you can math out… you will technically generate an infinite amount of aketine from just one crop.

Here’s a quick example of how you can place the units to create an aketine farm.

That being said, you can set this up however you want. In fact, you’ll likely some of your aketine to go straight into another machine, so you can turn it into other materials. If you’re making explosives, you’ll want to hook one of the Planting Unit outputs to a Shredding Unit to make aketine powder, and then have that unit hooked up to a Packaging Unit to make your explosives. Factories are great!
