2K has announced that NBA star Tyrese Haliburton will be joining the WWE 2K25 roster through the Dunk & Destruction pack. Haliburton plays for the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and became the first former Iowa State player to win Olympic gold in men’s basketball through the national team roster at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Unfortunately, Haliburton’s future addition to WWE 2K25 hasn’t received the warmest reaction from fans.
WWE 2K25 is a wrestling sports game that was first launched in March 2025, serving as the 25th entry in the popular series. Developed by Visual Concepts and released under 2K, the publisher also manages the NBA 2K and PGA Tour 2K series. WWE 2K25 released a New Wave DLC pack recently, adding Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, and the Motor City Machine Guns to the roster, and another mystery wrestler is expected to be joining the line-up very soon.

As part of WWE 2K25’s New Wave Pack DLC, fans can finally pull off Stephanie Vaquer’s most popular wrestling move in the game.
Announced on social media, the official WWE 2K25 Twitter account confirmed Haliburton would be a new recruit in the wrestling game, revealed to be coming soon via the Dunk & Destruction pack. Haliburton was rumored to be joining the game back in March, when leaks teased WWE 2K25’s potential celebrity DLC characters list, which also included the likes of Travis Scott, Shaq, and Jalen Brunson. The NBA player is confirmed to be joining Abyss and Great Khali in the upcoming pack, and an additional two NBA stars are still to be announced.
WWE 2K25 Adds Tyrese Haliburton to the Upcoming Dunk & Destruction Pack
Haliburton’s announcement received mixed reactions from the wrestling community, but not nearly as bad as the complaints about WWE 2K25’s frustrating count out glitch. One Twitter user thought the Pacers player’s face scan looked much better in WWE 2K25 than in NBA 2K25. However, a majority of the community’s feedback expressed confusion as to why basketball players were being added at all to a wrestling game. Fans named Jordynne, Penta, and Joe Hendry as the preferred choices to be added to the upcoming roster, and another wanted to see Triple H from his 1999 era join the ranks.
There’s plenty for wrestling fans and gamers alike to look forward to in 2025, and WWE 2K25 has an exciting DLC release schedule in place. After May’s New Wave pack launch, June will welcome the Dunk & Destruction pack, followed by July’s Fearless pack. Heading into the second half of the year, September will deliver the Attitude Era Superstars pack, followed later by the Saturday Night’s Main Event pack that’s scheduled to release in November.
