However, it still lacks the technical aspect of manually selecting and targeting specific body parts from a grappling position. The studio has reintroduced the classic chain wrestling mechanic in WWE 2K25, so it does feature some proper old-school wrestling.

That said, fans can still target specific body parts to wear down their opponent’s anatomy so they can land successful finishers to end the match. Body damage and blood look and feel more effective than ever. Learn how to successfully damage the arms, body, head, and legs in WWE 2K25.

Targeting The Head In WWE 2K25

Some WWE 2K25 wrestlers have predetermined moves that can target body parts. However, the most effective way to target specific body parts is by taking the opponent to the ground and attacking from that position. Follow these steps to focus on particular areas using grapple moves:

  • Stand near the grounded opponent’s head.
  • Press the Circle on PlayStation or the B button on Xbox to grab them.
  • To perform a light grapple while holding your opponent, press Square/X.
  • To execute a heavy grapple while holding your opponent, press X/A.

Head Strikes

  • Press Square/X to perform a light strike to the head.
  • Press X/A to perform a heavy strike to the head.

Upper Body Submissions

  • Stand near the opponent’s head and press R2 + Circle/RT + X.

You can execute additional attacks and submissions while either standing or on the ground by turning your opponent away from you or making them face downward. To change your opponent’s position, flick the right joystick to the right or left.

Targeting The Legs In WWE 2K25

  • Position your wrestler on a downed opponent’s legs, then press the Circle/B button to grab them.
  • For a light grapple, press Square/X.
  • For a heavy grapple, press X/A.

Leg Strikes

  • Stand near the legs and press Square/X to perform a light strike to the legs.
  • Press X/A to perform a heavy strike to the legs.

Leg Submissions

  • Stand near the legs and press R2 + Circle/RT + X.

Targeting The Arms, Body, And Back In WWE 2K25

Some WWE wrestlers may perform arm grapples from the side position or attack from behind. To execute a side grapple and attack, use the following steps:

  • Stand your wrestler at the side of a downed opponent and press the Circle/B button to grab them.
  • Then, press the X/Square button for a light grapple.
  • Or, press the A/B buttons for a heavy grapple.

Arms And Body Strikes

  • Press Square/X to perform a light strike to the arms, body, or back.
  • Press X/A to perform a heavy strike to the arms, body, or back.

Submission From Side

A wrestler’s submissions vary and could have attacks that target any part of the body.

  • At the side of the body, press R2 + Circle/RT + X.

The Snapmare takedown is a quick flipping move that effectively puts an opponent on the mat seated, allowing for targeted grapples and strikes to the head and back. Flick the right analog stick up to grab them by the head and take them down.
