Xbox Game Pass Core will be adding three more titles for subscribers on October 1: Cities: Skylines – Remastered, Disney Dreamlight Valley, and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. Microsoft introduced Xbox Game Pass Core, its lowest priced tier, in 2023 after discontinuing the long-lived Xbox Live Gold. It was a bittersweet time for gamers, but the decision also expanded the options available to subscribers.
Game Pass Core offers subscribers a curated library of at least 25 games, which are not swapped out as frequently as the titles in the service’s other tiers. The selection includes a wide range of genres that have all been well received by gamers, ensuring that everybody has something to play, no matter their tastes. Currently, Fallout 4 and 76, Doom Eternal, Dishonored 2, Tunic, Stardew Valley, and Elder Scrolls Online are among the titles available to play through Game Pass Core.
3 More Titles Are Coming to Xbox Game Pass Core
On October 1, Xbox Game Pass Core subscribers will be able to add Cities: Skylines – Remastered, Disney Dreamlight Valley, and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide to the titles at their disposal. These three games are already part of the Xbox Game Pass Standard subscription tier and can be enjoyed via cloud gaming as well. If purchased without a Game Pass membership, each of these releases currently retails for $39.99, so having them accessible via the Core subscription, which costs $9.99 a month, will likely be an interesting value proposition for many people.

Developed by Colossal Order and published by Paradox Interactive, the original version of Cities: Skylines was released in 2015 to critical success. As of 2022, it had sold 12 million copies across platforms. So it came as little surprise, then, when the remastered edition was released for consoles in 2023, offering performance enhancements and quality-of-life upgrades. There are also currently numerous DLC available for separate purchase, incluing everything from full expansions, cosmetics, and new assets. Cities: Skylines – Remastered has a 4-star review rating on Xbox.
Gameloft’s Disney Dreamlight Valley was released in 2023 on multiple platforms and was an instant success, winning a variety of awards like Best Game Design and Indie Game of the Year. The eponymous valley features various locations inhabited by popular characters from Disney and Pixar IPs. There are many DLC available to purchase for Disney Dreamlight Valley, like “The Storybook Vale,” which adds a new biome, house style, animal companion, and outfits. Disney Dreamlight Valley also has a 4-star rating on Xbox.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide currently is sitting at a 3.5-star rating on Xbox and a “Mostly Positive” rating on Steam. First released in 2022 for PC, the Xbox version came out in 2023. A first-person action game developed and published by Fatshark, Darktide is considered the spiritual successor to the popular Vermintide series and is a strong addition to the Xbox Game Pass Core library.
