The Nintendo Switch 2‘s library has just gotten considerably bigger, with 11 new games launching for the console today, October 22. Not every game is a completely new release, with several established titles finally making their Nintendo Switch 2 debuts, but the sheer variety gives Nintendo Switch 2 players plenty to choose from.
October has already been an eventful month for Nintendo Switch 2 owners, and the latest releases arrive as the console approaches its first major holiday shopping season. With several highly anticipated games still scheduled for November, including The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the Nintendo Switch 2 is heading into the holidays with an increasingly diverse selection of games.

The biggest new release of October 22 is arguably Final Fantasy Resonance, the latest turn-based RPG in Square Enix’s long-running franchise. Unlike the action-oriented combat featured in some recent Final Fantasy games, FF Resonance embraces a more traditional approach to battles while incorporating familiar characters from throughout the series. Cloud Strife and other recognizable heroes appear as Vision summons, giving the game a connection to previous entries without making them the central focus of its story.
The Big N itself has also contributed a new Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive with Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, which builds upon a sports franchise that dates back to the original Wii Sports. The new game features 12 different sports alongside local and online multiplayer, making it one of the more accessible additions to the console’s library. Meanwhile, Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch offers something completely different as an exclusive cooperative horror game. Using the Nintendo Switch 2’s GameShare functionality, one player explores a haunted house while another helps them navigate the environment through security cameras. It’s an unusual approach to cooperative gameplay that sets the horror title apart from the day’s other releases.

The October 22 releases also include several games that have already established audiences on other platforms. Peak, the popular cooperative climbing game, is making its console debut, while Cult of the Lamb arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 alongside its Woolhaven DLC. Hitman: Absolution brings Agent 47’s stealth-focused adventures to the platform, and Azure Striker Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced bundles three action-platforming games together. The two Cotton Reboot! releases, HoloVillage: Our Cozy Days, and My Friendly Neighborhood round out a day that offers considerably more than just Nintendo’s biggest franchises.
The rush of October 22 releases comes just ahead of another busy stretch for Nintendo Switch 2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled for October 23, followed by the upcoming release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on November 5. Those releases will undoubtedly attract plenty of attention, but the latest arrivals demonstrate how much of the system’s library is now coming from outside Nintendo itself.
