Black Clover may be ending soon, but Asta’s journey to become the next Wizard King will remain unforgettable to many fans around the world. Set to conclude on May 1, 2026, Black Clover’s 11-year run leaves behind iconic sword and magic battles and emotional moments with the ever-popular Asta at the center.
Black Clover Officially Announces Its Ending With Latest Chapter 392
Black Clover is officially ending with chapter 392, and It’s time for fans to bid the series farewell.
Finding a new manga after reading Black Clover would not be an easy task. After all, the story of Asta and the Magic Knights stands among the very best in shonen. Still, there’s no harm in trying or exploring other shonen manga series that capture the same energy as Yuki Tabata’s Black Clover. That said, these shonen manga are great places to start.
Mashle: Magic and Muscles
Mashle: Magic and Muscles is often recommended for fans of Black Clover due to its familiar setup where the main protagonist lacks the ability to use magic. Just like Asta, Mash is not blessed with any magic abilities no matter how hard he tries to use magic. Instead of relying on magic, Mash Burnedead’s muscles are his greatest assets.
Mash isn’t exactly a sword fighter like Asta, though he does pick up a sword every now and then. It’s difficult to take him seriously due to his funny yet unpredictable antics, but when the going gets tough, he’s the most reliable ally. With Mashle: Magic and Muscles already finished, fans can fully enjoy its story.
Wistoria: Wand and Sword
Wistoria: Wand and Sword is a new gen shonen fantasy series that shares many similarities with Black Clover. From the main lead who relies on swords instead of magic in combat to the prejudice he endures, Wistoria: Wand and Sword delivers yet another inspiring battle against adversity.
Still, Black Clover’s Asta and Wistoria’s Will Serfort possess unique personalities despite sharing a common goal of proving their worth against all odds. Asta is more positive and optimistic than Will Serfort, while Will is quieter and more introspective than Asta.
Katekyo! Hitman Reborn
Black Clover has a huge cast of characters, and most of them are oddballs from the Black Bulls and the other Magic Knight squads. The same can be said for Katekyo! Hitman Reborn, which boasts mafia members from different families, each with their own unique personalities and abilities that make the series just as chaotic and entertaining as Black Clover.
In Katekyo! Hitman Reborn, Tsunayoshi Sawada is destined to become the next Vongola Decimo, a prestigious title held by the mafia’s tenth-generation boss. However, Tsuna is known to many as “No-Good Tsuna” for his clumsiness, poor academic performance, and complete lack of confidence, making him seem the most likely candidate for such an important role.
MxZero
While MxZero is a shonen fantasy manga with a different setting to Black Clover, it features a hot-headed protagonist who can only use an anti-magic ability to fight and get out of dangerous situations. Much like Asta, Taiga Kuzumi is impulsive and reckless but driven by a strong will to push forward to achieve his goals. He also tends to fall in love easily and refuses to give up on his love interest, even after facing countless rejections.
Additionally, MxZero is packed with humor, ranging from Taiga’s clumsy attempts to avoid expulsion from the magic school to his chaotic misunderstandings with Aika and the other female students, which never fail to spiral into comedic situations.

Junk the Black Shadow
Junk the Black Shadow’s protagonist resembles Black Clover’s Asta in many ways, from their character designs to their rowdy personality and their resolve to defy the system that rejects them.
However, while Asta is an anti-magic character in Black Clover, Junk is a powerful dark magic user in Junk the Black Shadow. Junk also aims to become one of the 12 Paladins, the strongest sorcerers in Avista, much like his late father. Unlike the other sorcerers in the series, Junk is wandless, but that doesn’t make him any less formidable.
Ichi the Witch
Just like Asta, Ichi from Ichi the Witch is an anomaly. While Asta is a non-magic user who can negate magic, Ichi is the first male witch that broke the long-established norms of witchcraft in Ichi the Witch.
Black Clover and Ichi the Witch share the same fantasy setting, with both worlds featuring countless characters who use magic spells as their primary form of combat and power.
Broken Blade
Released in September 2006, Broken Blade features a non-magic user character as its main lead. Rygart Arrow is looked down upon by his peers, especially those who are exceptional in using magic. Much like Asta, Rygart is an outcast who eventually finds a place where he belongs, despite being born into a world where he is considered different and disadvantaged.
In Broken Blade, only Rygart can pilot a powerful ancient golem capable of protecting his hometown and his friends. Only a non-magic user like Rygart can use the Golem, as its activation relies on his unique lack of magical energy, making him the key to winning the war.
Naruto
Naruto is one of the most obvious recommendations for Black Clover fans. After all, it’s an action-packed series led by a stubborn and ambitious protagonist, Naruto Uzumaki. Much like Asta, Naruto has a strict code of never giving up, constantly pushing forward with his head high despite rejection from other characters and overwhelming odds caused by his powerful opponents.
While Naruto doesn’t feature magic knight squads, the series instead revolves around ninja groups who, much like the Black Bulls, go on missions together, take on dangerous assignments, and grow stronger. Chakra serves as Naruto’s central power system, functioning in many ways like a form of magic that allows shinobi to perform extraordinary jutsu.
