Titanfall and Black Ops 3 enjoyers might like a new “movement shooter” the Splitgate devs are hoping to start playtesting soon

Having re-launched Splitgate 2 as Spligate: Arena Reloaded late last year, 1047 Games have now kicked off early work on a new shooter. Details are scarce aside from the fact you’ll be able to move around in it and that 1047 CEO Ian Proulx reckons it should appeal to fans of Titanfall and Call of Duty Blops 3. Oh, and that you can sign-up for to playtest it now.

“I’m not here to talk too much about that today, but I want to give the community a heads up. We’ve had a small section of the team start working on a new game in addition to Splitgate,” Proulx revealed during an update video on Arena Reloaded’s season 2 spotted by PCGamesN. “I’m not here to share too much about that, but what I will say is that it is a movement shooter, and if you’re a fan of games like Titanfall or Black Ops 3, we would love to hear from you. We’re going to take sign-ups so we can start playtesting soon.”

1047 say they’ll have more to share about this game at some point down the road, and were keen to emphasise that this isn’t them dumping Splitgate, but rather aiming to become “a multi-game studio”. You can certainly understand why they’d be keen to get something else going. Arena Reloaded, a mishmash of the first Splitgate and its difficult second album of a sequel, hasn’t set the world alight since it arrived in December. The decision to take Splitgate 2 offline for a rejig prior to that came around the time its post-launch struggles prompted two rounds of layoffs at 1047.

Would it have fared any better without Proulx’s Trumpy hat stunt at Summer Geoff Fest 2025? Perhaps not, but that probably didn’t help.

If you fancy playtesting 1047’s new mystery Titalops-esque shooter, you can sign up for the playtests here. Just to note, you will have to sign an NDA if you’re picked.
