Devil Fruits form the primary power system in the world of One Piece and there are a plethora of abilities that are all classified under the Paramecia, Zoan, and Logia classes. Over the years, Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the series, has been introducing overpowered Devil Fruits one after another, especially with the series entering its Final Saga on August 29, 2022.
One Piece chapter 1183, which was published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #26 on May 24, 2026, set up the powers of an overpowered Devil Fruit that has the potential to cancel out the abilities of other Devil Fruits. This Devil Fruit is none other than Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Zaza, which is a God Devil Fruit that was recently introduced in the Elbaf arc.
One Piece’s Rain God Zaza Power Holds The Potential To Cancel Out All Abilities
When it comes to Devil Fruit abilities that can cancel out the powers of other Devil Fruits, only one had been introduced by Eiichiro Oda until recently, and that is Blackbeard’s Yami Yami no Mi. This Devil Fruit made its debut in One Piece Chapter 441, which was released in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump issue #8 on January 22, 2007.
The Yami Yami no Mi is said to be the most dangerous of all Devil Fruits that exist in the world of One Piece. With its darkness, it sucks in everything, including light, as well as the intangibility that the fruit offers. Most of all, it sucks in the abilities of other Devil Fruits as well. By making direct contact with Devil Fruit users, it can nullify their powers completely, making the user almost invincible in combat.
“You can’t kill me. This power is said to be the most dangerous of all the abilities that exist. With this ability, I’ve become the strongest!” — Blackbeard to Ace in One Piece Chapter #441
Now, over 19 years later, Eiichiro Oda has officially set up yet another Devil Fruit with the capability of cancelling out Devil Fruit powers, and that is Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Zaza. This Devil Fruit was first set up in One Piece in Chapter 1182, which was officially released on May 10th, 2026, in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #24, with Killingham dreaming up the MMA of the Rain God Zaza. The powers of the Rain God make it possible for it to cancel the Devil Fruit abilities of others. The Rain God is said to pelt rain down and pour immense amounts of water on the heads of those down below. As seen in Chapters 1182 and 1183, it can flood entire giant-sized villages in a matter of minutes. Once flooded, the vast majority of the people there end up drowning, and through this drowning, it can essentially cancel the Devil Fruit abilities of all those who stand in its path.
So far, only the drowning capabilities of the MMA version of Rain God Zaza have been shown in One Piece chapters 1182 and 1183. However, in the world of One Piece, there exists a Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Zaza, the powers of which far surpass this MMA version that the Elbaf arc has officially introduced. As such, the true powers of the Rain God Zaza are going to be much stronger and can potentially wipe out entire countries with the immense amount of rain and the floods that come with it.
With the introduction of the Zaza Devil Fruit, One Piece officially has two fruits capable of cancelling abilities. One belongs to Blackbeard Marshall D. Teach, and the second either waits for a future eater in the Final Saga, or belongs to an unknown individual right now, making for an exciting turn of events in One Piece.

The Zaza Devil Fruit’s Nullifying Powers Make It Feared Among The Celestial Dragons
Not much has been revealed about the role that Rain God Zaza played in the past during the Void Century. The only thing we know so far is that all Celestial Dragons fear Rain God Zaza, and this is because they exist above the clouds, and something out of their control, such as a natural disaster, scares them to no end. The Rain God, which pelts the lower world with rain and immense amounts of flooding water, is a big fear of theirs.
“We were born in a place so high, it’s above all the rain clouds. Water coming down from the sky? It’s a mysterious terror! After the people of D and Nika, it was the most common boogeyman they warned us about…that in the lower world, there’s a monster called the Rain God that dumps water on top of your head!” — Saint Killingham, One Piece Chapter #1182
This fear also likely stems from the enmity that they share. The Rain God Zaza is an enemy of the Celestial Dragons, as confirmed by Saint Killingham and Sommers, both of whom confirm that the Celestial Dragons fear it in the same way they fear people of the D. and Sun God Nika. The details of their clash from the past remain unclear right now, but given that they fought in the past, it is highly likely that their clash took place at some point during the Void Century.
“Sommers, I messed up! I summoned the wrong thing! What I am afraid of…I got overzealous!” — Saint Killingham, One Piece Chapter #1182
Just like the Sun God Nika, the Rain God Zaza is also going to show up before the Great War officially begins, which will be soon following the events of the Elbaf arc, and that is something that we are all eagerly waiting to see. With a powerful ability that can control terrains by flooding and essentially nullify other Devil Fruit powers, the Rain God Zaza is surely going to be very important moving forward.

Why The Devil Fruit-Cancelling Power Of Rain God Zaza Will Be Key In The Battle Against Nerona Imu
Right now, One Piece is in the climax of the Elbaf Arc, with Chapter 1183 marking the continuation of the battle between Nerona Imu and Loki. This chapter also took us 70 years into the past and delivered the beginning of Brook’s backstory from the Esperia Kingdom, which was completely destroyed at some point in the past. Immediately after this flashback is over, Eiichiro Oda will take us back to the main battles, and it is here that the possibility of Rain God Zaza joining hands with Nika and Nidhoggr arises.
Rain God Zaza is inherently an enemy of the Celestial Dragons, and when combined with the fact that Killingham cannot control it perfectly, which was confirmed in chapter 1182, it sets up for an interesting turn of events that could see it combine its strengths against the Celestial Dragons instead of aiding them.
Sommers: You idiot! Now you’re gonna be freaking us out!! But you can still control it, right?
Killingham: Dunno. It’s still a sleeptid, so I think so.
Sommers: Well, what is done is done.

In either case, the true Rain God Zaza, which is due to show up at some point later down the line in the Final Saga, is also going to take up a stand against Nerona Imu and the Celestial Dragons. With the immense ability to cancel out Devil Fruit powers of the Holy Knights, the Five Elders, and potentially even Nerona Imu himself, Rain God Zaza is going to be a key player later down the line in the story the powers of whom could hold the key to defeating Nerona Imu. Undoubtedly, we’re all eager to see Eiichiro Oda explore the powers of the Rain God later down the line in One Piece.
