How To Get Infinite Iron Ore In Solarpunk
To get infinite iron ore in Solarpunk, mine the iron patch. While exploring the starting island, locate the pond and head south to find a couple of iron rocks as well as an iron patch. The map will make it easier to find. However, you need to research tier 2 to unlock the map recipe and craft it using cloth.
The rocks likely don’t respawn, so focus on the patch to get ores. The patch will stay there, and no matter how much you mine it, it will give infinite iron ores. You will also get the occasional stone and clay when mining the patch.
To mine the iron ore rocks or patch, use a pickaxe. Be warned that the iron patch will chip away at the pickaxe’s durability way faster than the rocks. So keep some sticks and stones on hand to keep crafting new pickaxe.
Where To Use Iron Ore In Solarpunk
Iron ores are used inside a furnace to create iron bars. These bars are needed to craft most tier 3 or higher items. The furnace is locked away in tier 2, so you need to build a beehive and get some beeswax to unlock the next tier on the research table. Research the furnace to craft it on the crafting table. Players will likely need some clay and stones to craft the furnace.
To make iron bars, throw the iron ores as well as some wood or sticks to fuel the fire and wait. After a couple of seconds, the furnace will produce iron.
The research table asks for an iron bar to unlock tier 3 recipes. This will eventually lead to players creating the dock and their airship to explore more islands in Solarpunk.
