Struggling to Win As a Hunter in Meccha Chameleon? Use These Tips!

Painting yourself into the environment and vanishing in plain sight sounds easy enough. Doing it as a hunter is a different story. In Meccha Chameleon, the maps heavily favor hiders, so you will often be walking past players without even realizing it.

You can’t just run around and hope to spot someone. You need to pay close attention to your surroundings and notice when something feels out of place. If you’ve been having trouble catching chameleons, here are some practical tips to help you improve your hunts in Meccha Chameleon.

Here are the best Meccha Chameleon tips that have helped me the most as a hunter:

  • Pay attention to what’s right in front of you
  • Stop relying on colors alone
  • Check the usual spots
  • Try different angles
  • Clear one area before moving on.

Pay Attention to What’s Right in Front of You

Meccha Chameleon rewards hiders for staying in the hunter’s line of sight, which means you will often find them hiding in plain sight. A lot of players assume the obvious spots are already cleared, so they do not spend enough time actually checking them. So make sure to check open spaces, simple corners, and “too obvious” spots.

Stop Relying on Color Alone

Hiders can use the Eyedropper tool to match the environment almost perfectly, so color differences are not always going to give them away. Against newer players, it might work, but experienced ones will blend in too well for that to be reliable.

What actually helps is paying attention to shapes and outlines. Look for anything that breaks the natural form of the environment, like small bumps or objects that do not quite sit right. More often than not, it is not the color that gives them away but the shape.

Check the Usual Spots

Most hiders end up in the same kinds of places. Tight corners, ceiling edges, gaps between furniture, shadows, and cluttered areas are all common hiding spots. I usually slow down here and really look instead of just passing through. Small bumps, odd outlines, or anything that feels slightly off is often what gives them away.

Try Different Angles

One angle is not always enough to confirm a hiding spot. If something feels suspicious, change your position and check it again. Some players position themselves in a way that only works from a certain viewpoint.

I’ve had plenty of moments where someone looked completely invisible from one side but got caught after I shifted a bit. This is especially true for low or hidden spots, like the bases of shelves or tight gaps where your normal standing view doesn’t provide a clear look.

Clear One Area Before Moving On

Moving back and forth between areas is where most of the time is wasted. It usually leads to half checking multiple spots instead of properly clearing anything. The easier way is to stick to one room or area at a time and fully clear it before moving on. I try to check everything in that area first, even the parts that feel empty.
