Should you save Yellow from the Hyper Punishment gun in Deltarune Chapter 5

Yellow is one of the many Deltarune NPCs you meet at the Flower Castle in Chapter 5, but he is different from the others. Motivated by justice, he strives to be perfect and law-abiding at every corner.

There will be a situation in the main story when Yellow is about to meet the wrath of the Hyper Punishment gun. Let’s find out what you should do to proceed with the story.

What happens if you don’t save Yellow from Hyper Punishment gun in Deltarune

Once you have defeated Yellow’s Bullet Hell, he will introduce himself to you. He somehow ends up thinking that he is the cause of a crime, and he needs to punish himself for that. As you walk in through the yellow door, Yellow says that he will bury himself.

There’s also a brief period when Kris and co. think that Yellow has buried himself. However, he reveals that he deserves something harsh, and that’s actually getting blown by the Hyper Punishment gun.

There are two options in your hand. You can save Yellow by destroying the gun, or you can leave the gun fire as usual. In the second scenario, the gun will take some time to charge up before firing its shot.

If you don’t choose to help Yellow, here’s what will happen. The screen will be coved by a shadow in the center, with white light all around the screen. After a few seconds, you’ll notice that the HP of your full party has dropped to zero.

Once the light goes away, Yellow will reappear and says that the fire missed him. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said about your party, as all the members are dead. Hence, you’ll lose a bit of in-game progress and resume from the nearest save.

Suffice to say, saving Yellow is the only correct decision if you want to finish the campaign. You’ll later fight Yellow in a boss fight when he is joined by Blue.
