Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) 2026 has finished up raising another $2.4 million (£1.8m) for Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières.
The annual speedrunning marathon, held in Minneapolis this week, welcomed around 2500 in-person attendees, as well as thousands via its livestreams.
All donations go directly to Doctors Without Borders, “providing life-saving medical care to those in need worldwide”. A short documentary detailing the organisation’s work supporting the humanitarian crisis in Gaza was shared with attendees, which you can see below:
While the speedrunners themselves joined “a week full of zany, unexpected, and joyful moments”, including Bluekandy’s world record-breaking run of Kirby Air Riders, a Balatro run that beat all odds, and impromptu beatboxing during the Resident Evil: Requiem run, SGDQ also hosted panels, community rooms for board games and music, a “bustling vendor’s alley with video game-inspired artwork”, and booths where attendees could demo games, w

Since 2010, Games Done Quick has collectively raised more than $62 million for charities worldwide, including Malala Fund and Organization for Autism Research. Summer Games Done Quick 2025 closed raising $2,436,614 – £1.8m – for Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières, while Awesome Games Done Quick 2026 raised $2.44 million (£1.8m) for Prevent Cancer Foundation.
