A new rumor claims that Rockstar Games is currently working on some sort of “custom music mode” for Grand Theft Auto 6, which could be similar to what was seen in ESPN NFL 2K5 over twenty years ago. This is just the latest in a long line of Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks, but many fans are remaining cautious about the plethora of different rumors and claims being thrown around about the highly anticipated title.
Last week, yet another leaker claiming to have inside knowledge on the next Grand Theft Auto game claimed that the PlayStation 5 Pro will have a big advantage when it comes to GTA 6. According to the insider, Sony’s flagship console will have the capabilities to run the game at 60 FPS, something that fans thought would likely be impossible due to the sheer scope of the title. The rumor should be taken with a massive grain of salt, but it was claimed that Rockstar is working with PlayStation engineers to assist in the game’s optimization on the console. The collaboration has reportedly resulted in Grand Theft Auto 6 running reliably on the PS5 Pro at 60 FPS, even with different graphical settings.

GTA 5 Releases in 2 Countries Nearly 12 Years After the Game First Launched
Over a decade after the initial launch of Grand Theft Auto 5 in the United States, Rockstar finally releases the popular title in two new countries.
Just days after the most recent Grand Theft Auto 6 leak, another individual by the name of HipHopGamer (via VideoGamer), who previously accurately leaked WWE 2K25‘s The Island, claims that Rockstar Games is currently working on a “custom music mode” for Grand Theft Auto 6. The leaker assures fans that “it’s coming,” but it will likely arrive after the game’s launch. HipHopGamer compares the mode to what was previously seen in ESPN NFL 2K5, which allowed players to personalize their in-game audio by assigning their own music tracks to various in-game events. This was a pretty groundbreaking feature at the time, but it’s unclear how Rockstar intends to adapt it for a completely different genre of video game.
GTA 6 May Have a Custom Music Mode
Like many other rumors surrounding Rockstar Games’ next title, fans should take this GTA 6 leak with a huge grain of salt. Although there have been leaks in the past from reliable journalists such as Jason Schreier and Tom Henderson, the credibility of unknown Twitter accounts is significantly less trustworthy. With that being said, HipHopGamer has proven to have some sort of source inside 2K Games, which shares the same parent company as Rockstar Games. This means it’s possible the user has been put into contact with other sources who have knowledge of Grand Theft Auto 6‘s development.
This also isn’t the first rumor surrounding music in Grand Theft Auto 6. There have been multiple other claims that prominent artists such as Drake and DJ Khaled will feature in the game with their own radio stations. American rapper and record producer Jermaine Dupri also let it slip that Drake will supposedly be able to upload music directly to Grand Theft Auto 6 before it is released anywhere else. If these rumors prove to be true, Rockstar Games could be focusing heavily on the music side of GTA 6, with plenty of new features for players to check out.
