How to Get & Use Verdant Grounds Key in Mistfall Hunter

Snagging the Verdant Grounds key in Mistfall Hunter is one of the fastest ways to turn a standard Hallowgrove extraction run profitable. It’s one of the locked loot rooms on the map that can either hold some of the most valuable loot on the map or can lead to disappointment depending on your RNG. However, you won’t find out unless you open it up, and this guide will showcase how exactly you can use the Verdant Grounds key in Mistfall Hunter and how to get it if you haven’t already.

Where to Use the Verdant Grounds Key in Mistfall Hunter

To use the Verdant Grounds key in Mistfall Hunter, you’ll need to travel to Hallowgrove and head to the Verdant Grounds POI. The loot room is located just south of the main building in Verdant Grounds. You’ll need to descend a rocky slope to reach it.

Once you reach the Verdant Grounds loot room, use the key to unlock it. There will be multiple chests and lootable containers inside that should spawn excellent or high rarity loot. Once you’re done, make sure to put any important items into Pip’s pouch, and head for the extract.

How to Get the Verdant Grounds Key (Location)

Auction House

The Verdant Grounds Key is an epic-rarity key that’s a random drop from enemies and containers. However, there’s a guaranteed way to find it, and that’s buying it from the Auction House. You can access the Auction House back at the camp by talking to Pip.

After that, head into the key tab under items, and select the purple rarity (epic) to see all the epic rarity keys on sale. You can purchase the Verdant Grounds key using Gyldenblod, which is the main currency of Mistfall Hunter.

Defeat Mini-Bosses

Defeating mini-bosses has a high chance of dropping the Verdant Grounds Key in Mistfall Hunter, or any other epic-rarity key. These mini-bosses are marked on the map, and you can highlight their red icons to see which one has spawned during your run. While these mini-bosses can be easily managed if you’re in a team, you’ll need a solid build if you’re thinking of facing a mini-boss solo.

Look Inside Chests & Effigies

Another great way to find the Verdant Grounds key is by simply looking inside chests in high-value loot zones. These zones are highlighted by gold color, making them stand out on the map. They’ll often be guarded by enemies with a purple symbol on their heads, who also have a smaller chance of dropping epic rarity keys.

Alternatively, you can visit Thatch Hut or Refugee Camp and look inside containers or the lifeless Effigies pinned on the walls and ground. In my raid experience, these also drop rare and epic keys, so it’s a good place to start looking for the Verdant Grounds key in Mistfall Hunter.
