The Pokemon Trading Card Game has revealed a set of four brand-new promo cards from the game’s upcoming Delta Reign expansion, launching in early November. The expansion, centered around Mega Rayquaza, will be the Pokemon TCG‘s final new set in 2026.
2026 has been a huge year for the trading card game branch of the beloved monster-catching franchise, with a multitude of exciting new sets. The game kicked off the year with the release of Ascended Heroes, which debuted as the Pokemon TCG‘s largest set ever and contained highly coveted new cards for Pokemon such as Pikachu, Gengar, and Dragonite. The Pokemon TCG welcomed the launch of several new sets throughout the year, including Perfect Order, Pitch Black, and the recently released 30th Celebration. Now, The Pokemon Company is getting fans ready for the game’s final expansion of 2026, Delta Reign.
The Pokemon TCG has officially revealed the four prerelease promo cards set to debut with the Delta Reign expansion. Players will be able to pick up promo cards for Enamorus, Masquerain, Kommo-o, and Magmortar from the expansion’s Build and Battle boxes, with each having the logo for Delta Reign stamped on the corner of the artwork. Each box includes one randomly inserted promo card from the four as part of a pre-built deck of 40 cards, also containing four Delta Reign booster packs. Prerelease events for Delta Reign are scheduled to begin on October 24 at stores participating in the Play! Pokemon program.
The new promo cards each look to bring unique strategies to their pre-built Pokemon TCG decks. The Masquerain deck heavily focuses on the ‘Bug Out’ attack and is packed with multiple Pokemon with the same attack, which can boost its damage. Magmortar will boost both itself and its typical partner Pokemon, Electivire, with an Ability that attaches Fire and Lightning energies to both. Enamorus tasks players with assembling each member of Pokemon‘s “forces of nature,” reducing Attack costs when the player has Enamorus, Thundurus, Landorus, and Tornadus. Kommo-o looks to be the simplest of the four decks, focusing on energy acceleration to meet the unique energy costs for Dragon Pokemon’s attacks.
Delta Reign should have plenty to offer fans beyond the four promo cards included in Build and Battle boxes. Mega Rayquaza ex will be the set’s biggest chase card of the set for many fans, with the Mega Evolution receiving its first fully new card since the Ancient Origins set in 2015. The set will also add more Mega Pokemon introduced in Pokemon Legends: Z-A to the game, including the first cards for Mega Golisopod, Mega Golurk, and Mega Malamar. The set will also introduce a unique new split Stadium card to the game, with Legendary Summit requiring players to play both halves of the card at the same time.
While the Pokemon TCG hasn’t officially revealed any sets for 2027, it has given fans a glimpse at what’s to come. A trailer at the Pokemon World Championships officially teased the introduction of Z Mega Evolutions to the game, which were first introduced in Pokemon Legends: Z-A‘s Mega Dimension DLC. The sizzle reel also revealed a brand-new type of card coming to the game, confirming that the Pokemon TCG will soon add ex Star cards to the game in an upcoming set. Pokemon fans should have plenty to look forward to from the TCG as the game winds down its 2026 schedule.
