Attack on Titan is one of the most iconic and recognizable anime series of all time. The series’s dark themes and gruesome battles have made it a fan favorite, especially when coupled with its incredible lore and story. It is hard to compete with Attack on Titan, but some series have definitely pulled it off. Some others have even beaten it. Curiously enough, a new anime series that can crush it is on the way, and it is The One Piece remake by WIT Studio that should be out sometime in 2026. One Piece, as a series, is already far bigger than Attack on Titan, especially when comparing manga sales. The manga is the best in history, but One Piece does have one issue: its anime. The Toei adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s work is lacking, and The Wit remake will fix the issues and put the series on the radar of new fans worldwide.
The One Piece Remake is Coming Soon
A Series That Can Crush Even Attack On Titan
One Piece is currently an ongoing series, both in its manga and its anime. And while its manga is universally loved by fans, the same can’t be said about the anime adaptation. The Toei adaptation of One Piece receives a lot of complaints, and for very valid reasons. This can be said even though the production has definitely improved in the last few years since the Wano arc.
Fans aren’t too fond of the fact that the series often takes too long to adapt simple scenes. On some occasions, it adapts less than a chapter per episode, when the ideal adaptation should include at least two or more. Moreover, a good chunk of One Piece is plagued with previews that go up to a whopping 8 minutes sometimes. This makes the anime highly unlikable to many for obvious reasons. The manga may be a masterpiece, but the anime certainly is not. One good thing, however, is that One Piece is getting a new anime adaptation, despite its current adaptation still ongoing.
This adaptation will be handled by WIT Studio, and will be titled The One Piece. Once One Piece gets its new remake, which should be sometime around 2026, it will crush the competition. This includes huge series like Attack on Titan. Attack on Titan, interestingly enough, was also animated by WIT Studio, or the first three seasons, at least. It will be interesting to see if The One Piece can beat Attack on Titan in ratings and worldwide fame.
The One Piece Remake Will Fix The Glaring Issues the Toei Adaptation Has
- Better Pacing and Animation
- More Faithful Adaptation of Oda’s Manga
The One Piece remake is something the franchise absolutely needs. The original One Piece adaptation was never fully introduced to fans overseas, which deeply impacted One Piece’s popularity outside of Japan. The remake will fix this issue, among other problems, some of which include the pacing of the anime, as well as the animation. One Piece, as an anime, shouldn’t be over 1000 episodes. The series should instead be in the 600s. This just goes to show how terrible the pacing is. The One Piece remake will also, hopefully, be a more faithful adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s manga, as the Toei adaptation takes a lot of liberties when animating the story—mainly due to the bad pacing and the need to stretch out the content as much as possible.
Attack on Titan’s manga concluded in 2021. The series was one of the most beloved worldwide and is compiled into 34 volumes. All of the Attack on Titan manga has already been adapted into anime. The series has four seasons, as well as movies. The Attack on Titan anime can be watched on Crunchyroll.
