After 13 Years, Boruto Sets Up The Return Of A New 10 Tails Jinchuriki

The Ten-Tails Jinchuriki has always been incredibly important to the overarching lore of the Naruto Universe. Known to be the strongest Jinchuriki of all, the 10 Tails Jinchuriki was first introduced to us as a concept in the Fourth Great Ninja War, and its official birth was seen with Obito Uchiha in Naruto Chapter 638 on July 29, 2013. Immediately after, Madara Uchiha also became the Ten-Tails Jinchuriki. At the same time, the lore of the Naruto verse told us that there existed a Ten-Tails Jinchuriki long ago, known as Hagoromo Otsutsuki, the Sage of Six Paths.

Clearly, the Ten-Tails Jinchuriki holds tremendous significance in the overarching plot line of the Naruto series, and it appears that in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, the Ten-Tails Jinchuriki is finally going to be reborn after a 13-year-long wait. With the problem of Jura still looming, there needs to be a Jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails to control this beast. This person could be none other than Konoha’s Seventh Hokage, Naruto, who recently lost his own Tailed Beast.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex’s Jura Is The Incarnation Of The 10 Tails

In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, the Ten-Tails is just as big a threat as it was in the Naruto series. While the previous Ten-Tails was successfully dealt with, there is a new Ten-Tails that has come through the Otsutsuki in the Boruto series. This new beast was initially in Isshiki’s dimension and was introduced to us in Boruto Chapter 35 on July 20, 2019. Since then, it has been continually involved in the overarching plotline of Boruto, and in Two Blue Vortex, it stands as one of the main villains. It was officially confirmed to us in Boruto Chapter #14 that Jura, the head of the Shinju, is the incarnation of the Ten-Tails itself, created by none other than Code. In other words, Jura is the Ten-Tails taken in a human form, granting him immense powers as well as capabilities beyond the imagination of all humans.

“Jura is a special case. Unlike the others, he has no prototype. He is a direct incarnation of the Ten-Tails, and the one steering this crisis we’re facing right now.” — Boruto Uzumaki confirms Jura’s origin, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #14

In fact, Jura’s powers are such that it is said that there is less than a one-in-a-million chance of defeating him. Even someone as strong as Boruto, Kawaki, Sarada, and all the other top tiers of the world combined cannot defeat him in combat. Jura surpasses even Isshiki Otsutsuki in terms of overall power, and that certainly goes to show how strong the Ten-Tails is. One way or another, this Ten-Tails needs to be taken down, and that is where the big problem arises in the future. While it is highly likely that Boruto, Uzumaki, Kawaki, or perhaps both of them together, will manage to defeat Jura in the future, the Tailed Beast’s reincarnation problem still stands, and someone needs to fill in to save the world.

“What is most critical is to not provoke Jura. Understand this: if we anger him, we have no chance against him. None.” — Kashin Koji shows Jura’s power

Why Jura Needs A Jinchuriki In The Future Of The Series

Tailed Beasts are incredibly difficult to control, and killing them is even harder. When Hagoromo and Hamura fought against the Ten-Tails in the past in a cataclysmic battle that lasted for months, it ended with Hagoromo becoming the Jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails, marking the birth of the first Ten-Tails Jinchuriki in the Naruto universe. The fact is that the Ten-Tails is too powerful to simply be killed and must be contained in some way or form. Killing the Ten-Tails doesn’t necessarily result in its death because, at the end of the day, it is a Tailed Beast. We have already seen in Boruto: Naruto Next Generation Chapter 55 the death of a Tailed Beast when Naruto used Baryon Mode. Yet, somehow, Kurama was reborn inside Himawari Uzumaki. Similarly, killing Jura doesn’t necessarily confirm the death of a Tailed Beast. At the end of the day, Jura is a Tailed Beast and can potentially return, which means a better solution needs to be found for it.

“Death is not permanent for us Tailed Beasts. Even if our flesh or soul perishes, over time, a kernel of us will sprout somewhere, and we will manage to return to life.” — Kurama confirms Tailed Beasts can’t be killed, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #10

The best way to control the power of a Tailed Beast is through the process of Jinchurikification. By sealing Jura or the Ten-Tails inside someone, the power can be contained, and the world will be saved. There is no better person to do this than Naruto Uzumaki, who is in desperate need of power of his own. Naruto Uzumaki was sealed officially in the dimension of Daikokuten in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 77, on January 19, 2023. Since then, he has not made his comeback, but Boruto’s latest arc, which continued with another release on July 20, 2026, with Chapter 36, is now officially bringing back the two legends. Sasuke Uchiha is expected to return at the end of this new arc, which opens up the possibility for Naruto Uzumaki to return in the following arc. With Naruto’s return, the perfect vessel to seal the Ten-Tails inside will be born, and we absolutely cannot wait for that.

Why Naruto Uzumaki Could Become Jura’s Jinchuriki

As things stand, Naruto Uzumaki and Jura are interconnected in more ways than one. The most obvious connection between the two is the obsession that Jura has with Naruto. On November 20, 2023, when Jura was born in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 4, titled “The Awakening,” he officially labeled Naruto Uzumaki as his goal. At first, he simply wanted to get to the Nine-Tails inside him, which is why he switched to Himawari. However, in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 24, released officially on July 17, 2025, it was officially confirmed to us that Jura was enamored by Naruto Uzumaki because he is the one who embodied love the most. As such, Jura believes that consuming Naruto will give him all the answers that he seeks.

“A while ago, I visited Konoha and was shocked to know that the Seventh Hokage had died. However, looking into your eyes, I’m convinced Naruto Uzumaki is still alive, isn’t he?” — Jura knows Naruto is alive and targets him, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #24

As we can clearly see, Jura’s knowledge and conscience grow as he grows as well, and with it comes the realization that consuming Naruto might not be the solution at all. Working with him in synergy could be the answer. Perhaps he will realize this at the end of his battle with Boruto and Kawaki, when he is nearing death. Furthermore, Naruto Uzumaki is in need of a great power-up as well, with Kurama officially moving to Himawari, as was confirmed in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 9. We can say for sure that Naruto is left way too weak as things are. He needs a significant power-up, and if he teams up with Jura and allows him to live inside his body, then we could perhaps see the birth of the strongest shinobi of all time once again. Naruto Uzumaki needs Jura, and Jura needs Naruto. This is a relationship that could blossom in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex if Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto allow it.
