All upgrades in LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight explained


LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight has plenty of gadget upgrades available for all key characters, starting with the Caped Crusader himself, and you can benefit from what they offer. You have to spend WayneTech Chips to enable these upgrades, and they will dramatically improve the signature gadgets.

Batman gadget upgrades

The Dark Knight has 16 different gadget upgrades available, making it the most in the game.

Scatterang Batarang Allows Batman to throw multiple Batarangs at once. Quick throw (R2) or lock onto three targets at once (L2 hold) and throw (R2). Nine
Alamarang Batarang These Batarangs stick to a surface and emit a loud noise to draw in nearby enemies. Aim (L2 Hold) at an enemy and throw an Alarmarang (Triangle). Six
Weighted Batarangs Batarang Increases the weight of Batarangs to deal extra damage. Throw (R2) at enemies for heavy damage. Six
Focus Bat Swarm Batarang Allows Batman to summon a swarm of bats to damage and distract nearby enemies. Aim (L2 Hold) with a full Focus Meter, then throw (R1). Twelve
Batclaw Fling Batclaw Allows Batman to fling enemies away with the Batclaw. Pull (LS) while firing the Batclaw (R2) at an enemy to throw them in the direction of your choice. Nine
Vault Slam Batclaw Allows Batman to slam an enemy down them. Dodge over an enemy (Circle) and grab them (R2) while above them. Eight
Pulling Power Batclaw Increases the pull speed of the Batclaw. Pull heavy objects (R2 + LS) faster and with less effort. Five
Brute Claw Batclaw Increases the pull strength of the Batclaw to yank larger enemies off balance. Pull Brutes (R2) into a stagger, then attack (Square) while the enemy is off balance. Six
Perch Takedown Batclaw Allows Batman to swing enemies around in a circle before slamming them down. Aim (L2 hold) with a full Focus Meter, then fire the claw at an enemy (R1). Seven
Impact Throw Batclaw Increases the impact dealt when an enemy is thrown at another enemy. Grab an enemy (R2), then throw them (R2) at another enemy to deal extra damage and stun the enemies. Five
Smoke Emitter Batclaw Adds a smoke capsule to the Batclaw that will fire a cloud of smoke on contact with an enemy. Aim (L2 hold) then fire the claw at an enemy (R2). Seven
Focus Slam Batclaw Allows Batman to swing enemies around in a circle before slamming them down. Aim (L2 hold) with a full Focus Meter, then fire the claw at an enemy (R1). Twelve

Detective Jim has eight gadget upgrades.

Focus Splat Foam Sprayer Allows Gordon to fire a supercharged blob of foam, completely covering a target in one shot and splashing other nearby enemies. Aim (L2 Hold) with a full Focus Meter, then fire at an enemy (R1). Twelve
Splitter Rebound Launcher Rebound Bolts will split in two when they bounce to hit multiple targets at once. Aim (L2 Hold) then fire the Rebound Launcher (R2) at any target. Six
Scope Rebound Launcher Adds a scope to the Rebound Launcher to target enemies with greater precision. Aim (L2 Hold), then use (R3) to enter/exit scope mode. Six
Rebound Power Rebound Launcher Increases the power of Rebound Bolts fired from the Rebound Launcher. Fire (R2) at an enemy to deal a stronger stun. Four

Knock On Whip Allows spinning enemies to knock other enemies into a spin. Whip (R2) enemies close to other enemies. Six
Focus Spin Whip Allows Catwoman to send an enemy spinning extra fast, bouncing from enemy to enemy in a frenzy. Aim (L2 Hold) with a full Focus Meter, then whip at an enemy (R1). Twelve
Distract Call Kitty These Kittens can distract nearby enemies and create an opening to sneak past them. Call out a Kitten (L2 Hold), then purr (Triangle) near an enemy. Five
Cat Burglar Call Kitty Increases the speed at which the stud combo bar will fill when collecting studs with the Remote Kitten. Call out a kitten (L2 Hold) and collect studs to quickly rack up a big stud combo. Four
Multi Call Kitty Call Kitty Allows Catwoman to summon multiple kittens at once to attack a target. Quickly Call Kitty (R2) while near an enemy. Seven
Focus Cat Attack Call Kitty Allows Catwoman to summon a gang of angry cats to attack nearby enemies. Call out a kitten (L2 Hold) with a full Focus Meter, then call other cats in to attack (R1). Twelve

Batman’s trusted sidekick has eight gadget upgrades.

Extra Targets Birdarang Increases the number of targets that a single Birdarang can be thrown at. Aim (L2 Hold) at targets to lock on to them, then throw (R2). Five
Spinarang Birdarang These Birdarangs cause enemies to spin around when they’re hit, causing them to lose track of their targets. Throw (R2) at enemies. Five
Focus Bird of Prey Birdarang Allows Robin to throw a superpowered Birdarang that will bounce around the area, hitting any enemies in its path. Aim (L2 Hold) at an enemy with a full Focus Bar, then throw (R1). Twelve
Ripcord Cable Cable Launcher Allows Robin to tether himself to an enemy for a fast attack. Aim (L2 Hold) at a target to lock on to them, then fire (Square). Seven
Bungee Cable Cable Launcher These cable lines are bouncy, allowing Robin to bounce up for a jump slam attack on enemies below. Fire (R2) to create a cable line, then jump (X) on the line to bounce and perform a jump slam attack (X). Four
Brute Tether Cable Launcher Increases the pull strength of cable lines, allowing them to slam larger enemies. Fire (R2) at a brue to slam them to the ground. Five
Focus Slammer Cable Launcher Allows Robin to fire a super powered cable line to slam enemies with extra force and hit any nearby enemies in the chaos. Aim (L2 Hold) at an enemy with a full Focus Bar, then fire (R1). Twelve

Batgirl gadget upgrades

Batgirl’s two gadgets offer eight different upgrades between them.

Security Bypass Hackarang These Hackarangs can bypass digital security. Throw (R2) at a hackable panel, then activate the bypass (Square) when a sentry is nearby to shut down the sentry and temporarily freeze the rotating barriers. Three
Stun Spread Hackarang These Hackarangs emit a small concussive blast on contact with a target, making it easier to stun multiple enemies at once. Throw (R2) at enemies. Six
Focus Hack Hackarang Allows Batgirl to bypass security entirely. Aim (L2) at a secure Hack Panel with a full Focus Meter, then throw (R1). Twelve
Battle Station Drone Allows Batgirl’s Drone to transform into a Battle Station that will target any nearby enemies. Pilot the drone (L2) to a suitable location, then transform (Triangle). Six
VR Headset Drone Allows Batgirl’s Drone to transform into a VR headset to cause enemies to target each other. Pilot the drone (L2) close to an enemy, then transform (X). Six
Battery Saver Drone Increases the battery capacity of Batgirl’s Drone, allowing it to stay out in Guardian Mode for longer. Summon the drone (R2). Four
Focus Blast Drone Allows Batgirl’s Drone to emit a large concussive blast. Pilot the drone (L2) with a full bar of Focus, approach an enemy, and detonate (R1). Twelve
