AOASHI Season 2 has released its main trailer ahead of its October 4 premiere, offering a new look at Ashito Aoi’s next challenge while also revealing the opening and ending theme songs for the upcoming season. The new promotion video previews the first part of the 24-episode season, which follows Ashito’s promotion to Tokyo City Esperion’s A Team. The first cour will consist of 12 episodes as Ashito steps onto a much tougher stage, where talent alone is no longer enough to keep up.
The trailer also gives fans a first listen to the show’s new theme songs. Rock band 10-FEET performs the opening theme, “Fortress Defense,” while singer-songwriter Ai Higuchi performs the ending theme, “Triangle.” Both songs were written specifically for the anime.
You can watch the new trailer below.
The PV opens with Ai Higuchi’s “Triangle” as Ashito and his teammates struggle to adapt to the level of competition in the Premier League. It also introduces familiar faces including Akutsu, Kuribayashi, and Kiriki, who await the newly promoted members of the A Team. As the pressure mounts, the players confront their own weaknesses while continuing to push toward the next level.
The second half shifts into 10-FEET’s “Fortress Defense,” featuring faster-paced scenes of training and matches. Among the highlights is Kuribayashi challenging Ashito to meet the expectations of the A Team, as the squad battles through frustration, envy, and determination on the pitch.
10-FEET, known to anime fans for performing the ending theme of The First Slam Dunk, handles the new opening, while Ai Higuchi returns to anime after contributing the ending theme for Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2 and writing the opening lyrics for Bocchi the Rock!. Both artists said they created their songs specifically for AOASHI.
Based on Yugo Kobayashi’s manga, AOASHI follows Ashito Aoi, a talented but raw football player from Ehime whose life changes after being recruited into Tokyo City Esperion’s youth academy. Rather than focusing on high school tournaments, the series explores the demanding world of youth football development and Ashito’s dream of becoming a professional player.
Kazuki Yokoyama directs the second season, with Masahiro Yokotani returning for series composition. The Japanese voice cast includes Kouki Osuzu as Ashito Aoi, alongside Tatsumaru Tachibana, Seiichiro Yamashita, Taku Yashiro, Shun Horie, Wataru Kato, Junya Enoki, and Kentaro Kumagai.
AOASHI Season 2 will stream starting October 4 on Crunchyroll. The first season is available on JioHotstar and Netflix.
