Once players complete the starting section and cross the red bridge, the game will nudge players towards the Red Tower in Big Walk. While you’re free to explore the map and complete the towers in any order, doing the Red Tower will get the players the map, which is immensely helpful for exploration. This guide will help players find all five items required to complete the Red Tower and get a map to unlock the Big View achievement in Big Walk.
How to Complete the Red Tower Puzzle in Big Walk (All Pieces Location)
Once players finish up with the starting area, they’ll reach the gym. You’ll find whiteboards here and get introduced to radio stations. Once you’re done exploring the area, take the path directly opposite the gym that will lead you uphill to the Red Tower in Big Walk, shaped like an upside-down cone.
Once you get inside the Red Tower, climb up to the top, and you’ll come across another terminal with a key, similar to the starting area. It’ll now require you to find five different items to release the key that will lead you to the map in Big Walk.
Look towards the shoreline from the top, and you’ll be able to see all the puzzle locations that you’ll need to reach and solve to get all five items required to solve the Red Tower. Here’s a brief overview of the puzzles required for the Red Tower before I dive into the solutions for each one (listed as marked in the image above).
- Puzzle 1: Yellow “Maze” Puzzle
- Puzzle 2: Green “Button Room” Puzzle
- Puzzle 3: The Train Station “Timer Cannon” Puzzle
- Puzzle 4: The “Basketball Court” Puzzle
- Puzzle 5: Mountain Overlook “Gesture” Puzzle
For players who just want to know the location of the puzzles, this is it. Now we’ll be diving into the solution for the individual Red Tower puzzles required for all five pieces, so here’s your spoiler warning.
This guide is based on a two-player solution to the Red Tower puzzles in Big Walk. The idea will remain the same, but the solution may change slightly.
Yellow Maze Solution (Red Tower Puzzle 1)
- Once you get inside the maze, one player must take the left path while the other must take the right one.
- The player on the left path needs to pick up the timer and quickly head to the nearest hole to pass it on to the player on the right path.
- The player on the right path needs to get the timer from the player on the left path through the chosen hole.
- After the player on the right path receives the wind-up timer, they’ll need to quickly place it on the green pot.
Green Button Room Solution (Red Tower Puzzle 2)
- The Green Button Room puzzle will require one player to head inside the room and close the door, while the other one will stay outside to press the button shown only inside the room.
- The player inside the room will need to call out the exact button that lights up on the console to the player outside. Use of a walkie-talkie will be essential here.
- The player outside will need to follow the callouts of the player inside the room and press the exact button indicated by them.
Train Station Timer Cannon Solution (Red Tower Puzzle 3)
- The Train Station puzzle will feature a green pot, similar to the Yellow Maze puzzle, as well as a cannon that will shoot a wind-up timer at a great distance.
- One player must remain on the yellow platform to shoot the timer, while the other player fetches it before the timer ticks to zero.
- The player fetching the timer must get atop the rock opposite the yellow platform and throw it over, so the other player can quickly insert it into the green pot in time.
Basketball Court Solution (Red Tower Puzzle 4)
- The Basketball Court puzzle is simple. Both players must grab the light-up bulb/ball on the ground and try to throw it through the basket. Once all the lights turn green, the key item for the Red Tower in Big Walk will be released.
Mountain Overlook Gesture Solution (Red Tower Puzzle 5)
- The Mountain Overlook Gesture puzzle may take some time. One player must remain on the overlook point and see five different platforms in the distance via the telescopes. The other player will need to head to said platform and relay the correct gesture to the player on the platform so they can place the correct gesture card into the rack. Walkie-talkies and binoculars will be helpful for this puzzle.
- As described above, the player heading for the platforms will need to analyze the gesture indicated by the card, and perform it via the combinations of appropriate buttons, e.g., left arm up, right arm up, crouch.
How to Visit & Get the Map in Big Walk (Big View Trophy)
Once you complete all the puzzles and get the five pieces for the Red Tower in Big Walk, insert them into the terminal to get the key.
Head downstairs and insert the key into the small slot right in front of the Red Tower entrance to start shaving/filing it. You’ll need to do this four more times, and thankfully all the shaving/filing contraptions are lined up on the pathway leading down the gym area. At the final shaving contraption, you’ll get the proper key that you can use on the terminal at the top of the blue tunnel with red stairs.
This will unlock the door to the tunnel and lead you inside the map room, which will complete the Big View trophy in Big Walk. Here, you can view a full-scale diorama of the whole map of the game, including things that you’ve already completed, marked with a flag.
On a bench nearby, you can also find a foldable map and a compass that you or your teammate can carry with you to get directions on the go. And that’s how you complete all the Red Tower puzzles, get a map, and unlock the Big View trophy in Big Walk.
