It’s been a year since Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 rocked up and had Nic say lots of nice things about it. Developers Sandfall Interactive have decided to celebrate both milestones by putting out a patch that adds in a bunch of fresh trims for the RPG’s litany of head hair havers.
“This expedition WILL be strutting around in style for their first anniversary,” the studio declared in their announcement of this anniversary patch, which also fixes some minor bugs. The main draw, though, is that Gustave, Verso, Maelle, Lune, Sciel, and Monoco can pop along to the stylist and have new furry things plonked on their bonces.
The new haircuts all look to be posh award show or runway dos, so if you were hoping to be running around with a party of mohawked adventurers or brave bowl cut-rockers, you might be disappointed. In the case of everyone but Gustave, you’ll need to head to the Gestral Merchant near Grosse Tête, with the moustache man’s do being at the Gestral Merchant near the Stone Wave Cliffs.
As for the patch’s bug fixes, they take aim at achievement text, collision issues, problems opening rest points while dialogue’s happening, and “an issue where Danseuse outfit for Lune and Sciel made the character menu too obscur”. Puns. How inappropriate for a serious occasion like a birthday you’re celebrating by making people look more spiffy.
If you’ve had your fill of Nic singing its praises in his review from last year, Callum and Ollie did the same when our advent calendar rolled around. So, give their writings a read if you want to celebrate its birthday by being told in no uncetain terms that it be the good, the marvelous, the wonderful, the rad, the first-class, the not shabby, the not shoddy, and the not crap. Even if Sandfall admit they could probably have done some bits better.
