Daemons of the Shadow Realm Episode 14 Release Date

While Daemons of the Shadow Realm only took a one-week break, it felt like an been an eternity. With so many questions that need answering, June 27 felt empty without seeing Yuru and Asa on the small screen. The adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa’s ongoing action-adventure fantasy manga series has captivated audiences since its initial release during the Spring 2026 anime season, and there are still plenty of tales to be told as Daemons of the Shadow Realm continues. With a total of 24 episodes to find a satisfying conclusion, fans are hopeful that the next few months will be packed with intrigue, bloody battles, and even a happy ending.

In Episode 13, viewers were introduced to Ivan Yosano, a terrifying assassin who infiltrates Higashi Village and massacres its residents using two daemons who reside in his twin swords. As it turns out, the man was dispatched in search of the fake Asa, whom he kidnaps along with a local village girl to use as leverage against Yuru. After killing the shaman Yama, Ivan writes his message to Yuru on the man’s corpse, which Hana is sent to deal with. Only then does it become clear that the woman is working for a third party, which Dera may or may not know. Yet again, Daemons of the Shadow Realm poses questions that fans desperately need answered, and there’s no telling when those answers will come.

Fans can look forward to learning more about fake Asa in the next episode, as the girl seems to still have some kind of obsession with Yuru. Why Ivan acts the way he does may also play a part in Episode 14, as well as those pulling his strings. The first episode of the series was filled with horror and bloodshed, and it’s still somewhat unclear why so many innocent people have had to die in Higashi Village. No matter what, Yuru won’t stand for this, and his sister may not be too pleased either. Daemons of the Shadow Realm Episode 14, “Family and Friends,” will be available to stream in Japanese with English subtitles on July 11, 2026, at 9 AM PDT / 12 PM EST.

Feedback for Daemons of the Shadow Realm has been positive since it kicked off in April, currently sitting at a 7.89 on MAL and 8.0 on IMDb. Audiences have been particularly impressed by its animation quality and Arakawa’s signature style, along with its captivating story and shocking violence, as well as its soundtrack and characters. The series didn’t quite manage to beat the Spring 2026 fantasy anime juggernaut Witch Hat Atelier, but it certainly didn’t go down without a fight. With plenty more story to be told, perhaps Daemons of the Shadow Realm will come out on top after all.

A vital aspect of Daemons of the Shadow Realm that audiences appreciate is its ability to drag out its most important plot points, never giving away too much at once and effortlessly keeping fans engaged by teasing tiny bits of its many mysteries each week. The second cour will continue to up the ante, as Yuru is more desperate for answers than ever, and the loyalties of many characters remain unclear. Arakawa’s manga is still ongoing, so it’s unclear whether another season may be coming somewhere down the line. Fans of the artist’s hit work Fullmetal Alchemist are already joking that, a decade from now, Daemons of the Shadow Realm may get a brand-new, more accurate adaptation a la Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

The Summer 2026 anime season has officially begun, and fans who want to supplement their Daemons of the Shadow Realm time with some fresh adventure fantasy have plenty of options to choose from. From returning favorites like Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, Skeleton Knight in Another World, and Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, to fresh releases like Dara-san of Reiwa, The Cat and the Dragon, and Tomb Raider King, there’s plenty to binge while avoiding the heat.
